May Bank Holiday Marquee Event: Just 2 weeks to go until the May bank holiday weekend when the big tent comes to St. Mellans. Friday night will host a boxing exhibition and ladies mud wrestling under the marquee. Saturday night, 30th April, Declan Nerney is the headlining event, while Sunday 1st May is top entertainment from More Power to Your Elbow.

Seniors: Our next senior game is this Sunday, 17th April, at 2.30pm away to Ballybay.

Reserve Div. 1 (B’s): Our game against Monaghan Harps was postponed at the weekend. We were due to play Latton last night, Wednesday. Our following match is against Scotstown on Wednesday 27th April.  

Reserve Div. 3 (C’s): Our game against Clones was postponed at the weekend. Our next game is at home to Oram on Saturday 23rd April.

Reserve Div. 4 (C2’s): Our next C2 game is at home to Blackhill on Friday 15th April at 7pm. We then play at home to Eire Og on Sunday 17th April at 6.30pm. We follow that with an away trip to Currin on Wednesday 20th April at 7pm.

Minors: beat St. Patricks on Tuesday last 3-07 to 1-12. We were due to play Casleblayney on Tuesday last. Our following game is away to Carrickmacross on Tuesday 19th April at 7.00pm. Training continues for minors on Friday at 6.30pm and Sunday at 12.30pm.

Lotto Jackpot now €2,000: There was no winner of last week’s jackpot. The lucky numbers were 7, 10, 14, 16. There were 8 match 3 winners, each receiving €25: Mary Donaghue, Aidan Keenan, Jim Pat McKenna, Alex Brennan-Annyalla, Winnie Boyle-Aughnacloy, Noah Lavery, Raymond Treanor (Yearly Ticket) & Eileen Morgan (YT). Entertainment: Easter Sunday night in the club bar local band, Rula Bula, provide traditional music entertainment. The great trailer run was held last weekend with Rory Treanor coming out as the deserved winner. The next stage of the trailer run will be held later in the summer, most likely beginning in Oisinvale.

Committee Meeting: is held this Thursday night, 14th April, at 9pm in St. Mellans.

U-8s: training continues Thursday in St. Mellans 7-8pm.

U-10s: training continues Saturday in St. Mellans 9.30-10.30am. The u10s take part in their first go games blitz on Saturday 23rd April in Scotstown at 10am. Bus leaves St. Mellans at 9am.

U-12s: training continues Tuesday and Friday at 6.30pm in St. Mellans. Our first game is Saturday 16th April in Magheracloone at 12pm. Bus leaves St. Mellans at 10.45am.

U-14s: lost to Clontibret on Saturday last in the first round of the championship. Training continues for u14s on Wednesday and Friday in St. Mellans at 7.00pm. Our next game is at home to Toome on Saturday 23rd April at 12pm. There are a number of u14s jerseys missing. If anyone has any please return to u14s management.

U-16s: training continues Friday at 6.30pm and Sunday at 12.30pm in St. Mellans. Our first game is away to Scotstown on Sunday 17th April at 6pm. Bus leaves St. Mellans at 5pm.

Camogie:

Seniors: Training continues Friday at 6.30. Our first league game is on this Tuesday 19th of April at home to Clontibret. We need a full turn out so please make the effort to be there.

Blitz: Congratulations to Caslteblayney on winning the county blitz played in St. Mellans last Sunday, while hard luck to our girls.  Well done to Emma, Karen, Maggie and Eilish who made their debut at the blitz and played very well.

Juveniles: training will resume on Saturday at 11am.  New players are very welcome. Orla, Deirdre and Catherine are on duty this week.  

Lucky Square: Our lucky square started last week. Congratulations to this week’s winner, Kitty Mc Kenna.  If anyone would like to join our lucky square please contact a camogie member.

Easter Raffle: We will also be holding our annual easter raffle.  Lines are on sale at €2 per line.  Prizes galore.

Ladies Football:

U-12’s : Training continues on Saturday morning at 12pm.

 

U-14’s: We had our first league game on Monday last at home to Aghabog. Our next game is on Monday 2nd May away to Sean McDermotts. Training continues Sunday mornings at 11am.

 

U-16’s: Hard luck to our girls who were beaten by Monaghan Harps in their first league game on Thursday last. Next game is tonight, Thursday 14th April, at home to Emyvale at 6.30pm.

 

Senior A’s: We secured a fantastic victory on Saturday last over Donaghmoyne A. Our girls fought to the very end and finished up Truagh 2-12 Donaghmoyne 0-10. Well done girls.

 

Senior B’s: Had a fantastic victory over Sean Mc Dermotts on Friday last. A great way to kick start the league for both teams.

 

Training: Continues on Saturday evening at 6.30pm and on Wednesday evening at 7.45pm. All girls are asked to make a huge effort to attend.

 

Reserve League: Fixture for 15th/16th/17th April at home to Monaghan Harps.

 

Registration: (U-10’s €18.50) (U-12’s-U-18’s €33.50) (Seniors €48.50) (Mentors & Committee €28.50). Fees are now due and have to be paid before Monday 18th April. We ask parents to send the money in an envelope with their child/s name, address and date of birth as there will be a registrar at training to collect this or contact Fionnuala Mohan or Pauline Treanor(Morris). Good Luck: We wish Monaghan Ladies & Management the very best of luck this Sunday when they take on Laois in the NFL Semi-Final in Ballymahon, Longford at 3pm.

Handball:

 Club singles Finals: soon to be played. Times will be notified via texts.

Club Doubles:  still have some outstanding matches and it is imperative these games are played .

Juveniles: As we prepare to bring the curtain down on the Juvenile season, we would like to thank all those who took part in the coaching of our young players and hope we can produce more like Christopher who will be challenging for titles on a regular basis. We are planning to bring all to a close on Thursday 14th April and would ask all new coaches of the coloured teams to have a short meeting after this session to assess how the new scheme operate for future preparations.
