Latton GFC Notes – Week Beginning 4th April 2011

  • Lotto

On Sunday 3rd April Numbers drawn were 8 – 13 – 19 – 27 & Bonus No 1. No winner.

€20 winners: Hugh McCabe – Mary Coyle/Martin Brady, Latton – Bernadette Lennon, Latton – Kevin Sullivan, Latton – Sean & Majella Fox, Shantonagh.

This Sunday’s Lotto will take place in Sloweys Bar Ballybay. Sellers: Brendan Fitzpatrick, Patrick & Paudie Hamilton.

The 25-week tickets are currently on sale from any committee member.

  • Senior Football

Our Reserves did well again on Saturday last where, despite finishing the game with 13 men, they managed a hard-earned draw with Magheracloone  0-09 each.

They play their next game tonight, Thursday 7th away to Castleblayney at 8pm.

Our Senior’s next game is on Sunday April 17th at home to Clontibret.

  • Minor Football

Well done to the Minors on their convincing home win over Cuchullains last week on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-06. They played away to Killanny on Tuesday night. Check result elsewhere.

Their next game is at home to Na Fianna on Tuesday April 12th at 7pm.

  • Juvenile Football

The Under 12s had their first outing of the year on Saturday away to Corduff. Having played well, they suffered a narrow defeat. They’re back in training every Thursday at 6pm before they face old rivals Ballybay on Saturday April 30th.

The Under 14s play in the Quarter Final of the Championship this Saturday at home to Eire-Og. All support welcome to Latton for a 12pm throw-in. Their next league game is at home to Inniskeen on Saturday April 23rd.

The Under 16s have their first league game away to Donaghmoyne on Thursday 14th at 7pm.

  • Pete Ward Tribute Night

A mass in memory of the late Pete Ward was held in St. Marys church last Friday. This was followed by a most enjoyable tribute night to the man himself in the centre where the large crowd enjoyed fond anecdotes & watched DVD footage of Pete in action. The members of Pete’s family present sincerely thanked all those in attendance.
