DRUMHOWAN CLUB NOTES 26.4.11

Intermediate Football League

Drumhowan 0-6  Carrick 2-11

The absence of a number of key players through injury and otherwise proved too much of a burden to carry on Saturday evening last when we suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of a lively Carrick outfit.  We showed only glimpses of our true form throughout and were completely overwhelmed in the end.  Not a great day the club and hopefully the experience can be put behind us as more of our regulars return to the fold.  Team: Matthew Lambe, Paddy Duffy, Damian Duffy, Mark O’Neill, John Paul O’Neill, Niall Mooney, Conor Duffy, Enda McElroy, Dermot McDermott, Kieran Deery, Kieran McElroy, Kieran Mooney, Kevin Mooney, Colm Lambe, David Millar.  Subs used :Barry McGuirk, James Mulligan, Jason Monaghan, Mark McCabe.

Tullycorbet Community Centre 1961 – 2011

The Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Tullycorbet Community Centre get under way at 8.30 on Thursday 28 April with a ecumenical service and blessing of the centre and concludes on Sunday 1 May with a monster BBQ and fancy dress disco.  In the intervening days, there are plenty of activities for all age groups, including a senior citizens’ party on Friday afternoon and ‘sing along’ party on Friday night. A family fun day, commencing at 3.30pm will be held on Saturday with the Golden Jubilee Dance taking place on Saturday night.  For those of you who fancy yourselves as a Sherlock Holmes or Colombo, there will be a car treasure hunt on Sunday afternoon between 4pm and 6pm.   The organising committee has extended an invitation to everyone to join in the celebrations and the club would to encourage all its members to support the them on this historic milestone for the community.
