Seniors-Aghabog 1-05 Clones 1-11

Clones recorded our first win on the league against Aghabog on Saturday last. Although having a six point advantage at the end of the game, Clones had far too many scoring chances squandered and nearly let Aghabog back into the game when they rattled the cross bar ten minutes from time. Clones had four or five goal chances in the game and really could have put aghabog away at half time however there was a goal of the season contender when veteran  Collie McCaughey caught the ball at the edge of the large rectangle, dummied the full back and rifled the ball in the top corner.

Next game is this Friday v Oram

Scorers- Collie McCaughey 1-0, Adrian Alford 0-4, Daragh Holland 0-3, Fintan Kelly 0-2 David Freeman 0-1, Darren Freeman 0-2

Reserves

Clones were down to play Emyvale away on Wednesday last but there was a no show by the referee. Not much can be said about the matter but it is hard enough as it is to ask players to drive from Dublin, Belfast, Athlone and Clones and for no referee to show up is not acceptable.

U10s

Congratulations to U10 team who had 2 wins out of 3 at the Go Games Blitz held in Threemilehouse on Saturday. Wins over Eire Og and Seans were achieved either side of a 1 point defeat to Killeevan. Jamie McQuillan, Osin Kearns, Maitiu Monaghan, Hugh McDonald and Rigan Graham provided the scores on the day however it was very much a team effort. Well done to all.
