U14 Development Blitz

Counties Louth, Monaghan and Donegal and the Ballymacnab Feile team who incidentally stood in as a replacement for Mayo, who were unable to attend, all took part in the U14 Development Blitz in Cloghan on Sunday last. The weather was kind to all the girls who took part and the Monaghan Lassies played a stormer.

Their first match was against the Louth team and Monaghan battled hard to put them away in an exciting encounter on a scoreline 1-1 to 0-1. Next up was the Ballymacnab team which proved to be a one sided affair in favour of the Armagh cailini. Monaghan then left Donegal trailing to win this match 2-2 to 1-2.

The last match of the day was an interesting dual when Monaghan met the “A” team from the “wee” County where the blue and whites came out on top in a well deserved victory of 3-2 to 1-0. Well done to all the girls who did Monaghan proud on the day and to all the parents who provided refreshments especially Patricia Duffy and Kitty Greenan who served the tea and food during and after the tournament.

Finance

In an effort to raise much needed funding Monaghan County Board are currently approaching Businesses for a donation of 100 euro which will give them an opportunity of sponsoring the Senior League or Championship and this will guarantee the competition being named after their business for the current year. It also gives their businesses the opportunity to have an advertisement, free of charge on our website, which is currently being re constructed.

Of the number of Businesses approached, two winning investors will be drawn at a Launch in Cloghan on Wed. next 13th April at 7.30pm where they will be declared Official Sponsors for 2011.
