Minors got their league campaign of to a flyer with a hard earned win over Blackhill last Tuesday night. The away side started the better and registered the first two scores of the game before Colin Clerkin got Aughnamullen off the mark. Blackhill then hit the net to extend their advantage to 4 but Aughnamullen fought back with 2 fine scores from Clerkin again. Blackhill finished the scoring of the first half with 2 well worked points to leave 4 between the sides at the break.
The afformentioned Clerkin and Thomas Meegan kicked 2 points after the restart to reduce the deficet to 2 as Aughnamullen seemed to adjust to the very foggy conditions the better. Then Clerkin hit the net to put the home side in front for the first time and Gavin Corrigan extended the lead to 2. Clerkin yet again split the posts before Blackhill hit their second 3 pointer to bring the sides level again but Aughnamullen finished strongly with two more points from Clerkin either side of a point from Corrigan to leave the F/T score of Aughnamullen 1-10 Blackhill 2-4. Team and scorers Niall Duffy, Paul Mc Caghey, Niall Mc Shane (C), Paul Connolly, Colin Fox, Keith Sheridan, Colin Clerkin (1-7), Pauric Mc Connell, Andrew Mc Connon, Thomas Meegan (0-1), Gavin Corrigan (0-2), Shane Conlon, Shane Mc Guirk, Subs Ciaran Conlon.

Under 14s play the first round of the Championship away to Clones at 12 noon. All support would be very much appreiciated. All players to be at the field for 11am.

Under 12s played their first game of the spring league on Saturday last where they had a good tussle with Ballybay. In the first period they trailed by 1-2 to 1-1 with the goal coming from Kieran Duffy and a Aaron Mc Gee point. The next period was nip and tuck with fine scores from Orlaith Hamill, Tiernan Duffy, Ciaran Marron (0-2) and a good goal from goalie turned corner forward Dean Johnson but Ballybay pulled away in the final minutes. For the first game this was a good show as Joel Wilson showed up well in defence helped by Orlaith Hamill, Ryan Bannigan and Patrick Mc Eneaney. Tiernan Duffy and Aaron Mc Gee played well in midfield whilst we had Kieran Duffy, Ciaran Marron, Oisin Hamill and Callum Blanche to the fore upfront. Subs Jack Mc Brien, James Hannaway, Mark Treanor, Darren Mc Connell, Martin Mc Quillan and Ryan Johnson all performed well.

Juveniles under 6`s / 8`s and 10`s Thanks to all the parents for their time last Saturday morning regarding under age coaching meeting with an outlook to the positive outcomes of the coaching our children are recieving at present and how important it is to get extra parents, uncles aunts help towards coaching. The coaches expressed the importance of the sessions but require all the help necessary if it is going to be more successful. We also covered the Code of ethics and code of behaviour at this level and that Mary B. Hamill (086 8463332) and Ann Blanche (087 2413348) are the Childrens Officers within the club, at the end of the day we want our children to be safe and to have fun.
For parents or anyone in the parish who has an hour to spare on Saturday mornings from 10am to 11am please feel free to come along and help out.

The Club would like to thank its members and supporters for their ongoing support both on and off the field. This year we have 10 teams in all competitions from U.8s to seniors and have the usual requirements to raise funds to support costs such as transport, facilities maintenance and insurance. In that regard we are holding a race night on Saturday the 16th of April at the centre, start time is 9.30pm as there is a senior match away to Drumhowan at 7pm and all are invited back to the centre directly after the game for tea and sandwiches before the race night begins.
