Scor:

Our Novelty Act team are putting their final touches to ensure ultimate glory in two weeks time. The All-Ireland final is taking place in the INEC in Killarney on Saturday 9th April. It is proposed to organise transport for supporters to the final, anybody interested in supporting this dedicated team are asked to let our Chairman Gerry Lynch know by Friday 25th March.

Team Affairs:

Next Sunday we play Carrickmacross in the first match of the Intermediate League next Sunday at home at the early time of 1:00 pm. This will be a strong test for our players as the visiting team will fancy their chances of promotion in the autumn time. Our “B” team entertain Clones on Saturday in the first match of the reserve league division 3, with a throw in time of 4 pm.

Under-14’s

Under 14 league Division 1:

 Seans 2-8 Monaghan Harps 3-4
The Sean’s under 14 team  came over a stern test in the opening round of the league as they held out in a tense finish to win by 1 point against a very capable Harps team. The visitors hit the ground running and led at the end of the first quarter by 4 points 1-3 – 0-2, this trend continued in the 2nd quarter as they went in at the break leading by 5 points
2-3 – 0-4.  However it was in the 3rd quarter that the hosts took a firm grip on the game and an Aidan Ward goal helped them into a 1point lead entering the final 13minute quarter 1-7 to 2-3. The home side edged further ahead early in the last quarter but a 3rd Harps goal threw the game wide open but a late goal from Adam O’Driscoll ensured victory by the slimmest of margins. However a lot of work remains to be done on the training ground before our next outing in 2 weeks against Killanny in the championship. The panel of players that took to the field on Saturday was: Ryan Connolly, Patrick Mc Phillips, Dylan Mc Nally, Martin Mc Guirk, Ryan Mc Entee, Adam O’ Driscoll, Niall Murphy, Jamie Keenan, Ryan Hughes, Niall Kearns, Aidan Ward, Sean Grant, Shane Kelly, Jason Kearns, Darren Morgan, Ryan Lynch.

Minors:

Our minor team have their first outing of the season against the Rockcorry/Kileevan combination. This match is at home next Tuesday @ 6:45pm. We wish the players and management  all the best in their endeavours.

Referees:

Anybody interested in taking up refereeing should contact the Chairman, Gerry Lynch as referee courses will be beginning soon. With nearly 800 juvenile matches alone to be refereed throughout the county this year, it is very important we have enough referees.

Juveniles:

All of our juvenile teams are up and running at this stage, players and parents should note times of training sessions as attendance is vitally important due to the leagues starting in the near future, indoor gear and outdoor gear should be taken to all sessions for the foreseeable future.

Mr & Mrs:

The Seans ladies are organising a Mr and Mrs competition on Sunday 24th April in the complex. Plans are at an advanced stage and tickets will be on sale soon. This is a very worthy cause as the ladies do a lot of unseen work around the club.

Dancing Classes:

Dancing classes continue at the usual time. Ceile dancing on Mondays from 6:30-7:30 pm.  Set dancing on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm also.

Bingo:

The mini JACKPOT stands at €900 on 45 calls next Monday night. Meanwhile the BIG JACKPOT is now €13,200 on 45 calls. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
