Medals were presented to our victorious Reserve team who captured the division four league cup and also our minor team received their runner-ups medals for both the championship and league competitions. Niall McKeown was presented with the senior player of the year award, with Colin Reilly being named as reserve player of the year and Keelan Clerkin collected the minor player of the year award. Congratulations to all the award winners and photographs of the evening can be viewed on our website at www.rockcorrygaa.ie or you can follow us on Facebook. Many thanks to the following companies & individuals for donating spot prizes. Sean Rooney, Westerna Arms Hotel, Cavan Crystal, Cait O’Hart and Dadz & Ladz.

Parent Information / Registration Night

Our parent information & registration night was held on Thursday 24th February in the Resource Centre. The night was organised by our juvenile committee to primarily inform parents about the clubs policies and procedures in respect to underage football competitions. At the launch our youth officer and chairman of the juvenile committee Paschal Smith highlighted the importance of the club’s Code of Conduct / Code of Best Practice and its implementation by everyone concerned. He gave a brief synopsis off the duties and responsibilities of club officials, mentors, coaches, players and parents and he expressed that we want the club to be known and respected in the County as a club that upholds the ideals of the Gaelic Athletic Association. We have always maintained high standards and all individuals in the club including underage players, parents, officials, senior players and spectators should at all times show respect and good behaviour. He made reference that it was the “Year of the Volunteer” and he appealed to parents to volunteer their services and help out with our juvenile teams. He remarked if people could spare one hour a week on a Saturday morning or one evening per week to help the various coaches this would be a big help and it would be very much appreciated by the club. On the night a lot of parents attended and handed back the signed declaration form and the juvenile membership forms. If you were not able to attend can you please familiarise yourself with the Code of Conduct / Code of Best Practice and when you have read and fully understood this document please sign the declaration form and return it along with the juvenile membership form accompanied with the €5 fee per child to our youth officer Paschal Smith.
