Maghercloone Notes

March 9th, 2011

                           Magheracloone G.A.A.

Lotto Result.  The numbers drawn in the Lotto for the week ending 7th March were 7, 8, 9 and 19. The Jackpot of 5,600 euro was not won and so the big prize this weekend will be 5,700 euro. The Lucky Dip winners last week were Peter Burns, Shercock, Tom Carroll, Camaghy, Joe and Millie Burns, Nurebeg and Caoimhe McEnaney, Leitrim.

Senior League.  Last Sunday’s visit to Scotstown provided two points for the team in the opening fixture of the season. The victory came at a very high price as Gavin Doogan sustained a serious injury during the game. As a result, he will be out of action for some time. It is very unfortunate for Gavin as he was making his mark with both county and club. His influence and drive will be sorely missed over the opening months of the season. All involved in football wish him a speedy recovery.

The final score in the game read Scotstown 1-7 to Magheracloone’s 0-11.

Ulster Champions. Congratulations to Allan Kieran and Sean Marron for the part they played in the Patrician High School victory over Bessbrook on Tuesday of this week. The school are now Ulster champions in the U-14 and a half grade and will play in the A competition in 2012. The two Magheracloone students played a major part in this campaign and they deserve congratulations for bringing glory to their school and club.

Half Time Draw. One lucky supporter of the half time draw at Sunday’s game against Dublin will win tickets to the All Ireland football final compliments of the Hillgrove Hotel, with a second prize of 100 euro.

Membership Fees.   The fee for 2011 is now due and may be paid to any committee member. It has been set at 25 euro for the year which shows no increase from 2010. All fees must be paid by March 31st.
