DRUMHOWAN CLUB NOTES

Reserves

Inniskeen 2 – 8   Drumhown 0 – 8

With a very young and inexperienced team, our reserves travelled to Inniskeen to play the locals under lights on Friday evening last. A poor first half performance characterised by a tendency to overcarry the ball resulted in a half time deficit of 4 points on a scoreline of Inniskeen 1-3, Drumhowan 0-2.  A tactical change in the second half were a more direct style was pursued resulted in a much better performance and, but for the concession of a number of softish scores, the end result would have been much closer.  Team: Dean Mooney, Damian Mooney, Paddy Duffy, Barry McGuirk, Damian Mooney, Kieran Deery, Jason Monaghan, Enda McElroy, Brendan Duffy, James Mulligan, Kieran McElroy, John Paul O’Neill, Michael Atkinson, David Caulfield, Ronan Duffy.  Subs used: Paddy Markey, Conor Duffy, Sean Duffy.

Fixtures

The reserves are in action again on St Patrick’s Day at home to Ballybay.  Throw in is at the revised time of 12.30pm.  Please note also that the A team match against the Seans, fixed for Saturday next 20th  March,  has been postponed.

Brendan in the wars

Brendan Duffy had the great misfortune of receiving both a broken nose and a broken collarbone in last Friday’s clash with Inniskeen.  We wish the unlucky Brendan a speedy recovery and return to full fitness.

Anybody Can Rob a Bank

The weekend commencing the 25th March will see the return to the boards of many familiar faces when the Local Development Association present the hilarious 3 act comedy, ‘Anybody Can Rob a Bank’ or perhaps a better title in the current climate would be ‘ The Banks Have Robbed Everybody’.  Under the direction of Tommy McArdle, the presentation will undoubtedly attract a huge attendance and are advised to come early in order to secure a premier seat.  Further details of the show will appear in next week’s edition of the Standard.
