Cairde Gaeil Triucha: Thanks to all who have already invested in the club through the scheme. We would like to encourage others to consider joining Cairde Gaeil Triucha so to help fund development of facilities at St. Mellans.

Registration: Membership for 2011 is now due at €20. Membership can be paid at the club bar or with Gerard McKenna on 086 3463952.

Lotto Jackpot now €9,400: There was no winner of last week’s jackpot. The lucky numbers were 4, 11, 13, 23. There were 6 match 3 winners, each receiving €35: Seamus Feely, Nicola Treanor (Y)-Dernagola, Ciaran Donaghue, Mark Kelly (Yearly Ticket), Mark Counihan, Gillian Keenan-Derryhellan. The jackpot now stands at €9,400k. Check team: Roisin’s. All yearly lotto sellers are asked to give their monies collected to Eilish Treanor in order to produce a receipt.

Committee Meeting: The monthly committee meeting takes place this Thursday evening at 9pm in St. Mellans.

Presentation Night: Our annual presentation night has been booked for Saturday 19th   February in St. Mellans. There will be medal presentations to the successful U-21 and Over 35 teams of last year. Awards will also be presented to players of the year in adult grades and to newly weds. The ladies football team will also be presented with medals subsequent to their successes of last year.

Party & Confirmation Bookings: Anyone wishing to avail of the newly fitted out lounge for private functions can book by contacting Gary Meehan (086 8368417), Shane McKenna (087 7999069), Orla Sheerin (086 3660015), Carol Treanor or Bernard Treanor (086 2667752). Handball:

Club Singles: Competitions Div1 and Div2 are now up and running. All game details are on notice boards in St.Mellans.

Novice 1 competition: We have 3 players in the semi-finals with Ian Treanor, Eamon Todd and Christopher vying for the title,. Refer to the notice board at St.Mellans for all game details.

Minor competition: We have 3 out of the 4 players left. Fergal O’Neill plays Padraig Mc Kenna and Christopher Mc Kenna plays Terry Mc Elvaney from the Harps. Good luck to all concerned.

Juveniles: are still being coached on Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 6pm. With new players still joining us on a weekly basis we will have be re-assessing the schedule shortly in how we coach these players.

County Doubles: We also have entered teams in the county Doubles from U12’s up to U16’s, Names participating are displayed on the bottom notice board outside the glass alley. The county board have decided to run an U11 county competition after the success of last year’s competition. We have entered several players into this competition. This will give our younger players a taste of county championships.

 

Camogie:

AGM: We will be holding our re-scheduled AGM tomorrow night, Friday, in St Mellans at 7.30. Could everybody please make the effort to attend. New members and parents are encouraged to attend also. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Monaghan Sports Partnership: We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Michelle and all in Monaghan Sports Partnership for their generous donation this year.   This is very much appreciated.

Ladies Football:

Table Quiz: Takes place this Friday 10th Feb in St. Mellans at 9pm. Table of four is €20. Raffle will take place on the night and refreshments will also be served. All support will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations: A huge well done to all committee members, management teams and to all our girls on being awarded Intermediate club of the year and overall club of the year at our annual county awards night last Friday. This is a fantastic achievement and a great way to mark our 10th year together as a Ladies club. Also, congrats to Eadaoin Treanor who picked up an Ulster U14 medal and to Maggie Treanor, Rachel and Rebecca Mc Kenna, Caoimhe Mohan and Eileen Mc Kenna who picked up Senior Ulster Medals.

Well Done: To Maggie, Caoimhe and the Monaghan Ladies on a good win in the League against tyrone last Sunday in Emyvale.

Circuit Training: Continues this Tuesday 15th in Carrickroe Community Centre at 7.30pm. All girls are encouraged to attend.
