Monaghan started their Allianz National Hurling League Division 3B campaign with a heavy defeat away to Fingal on Sunday. Meanwhile, the county Under-21s’ game against Tyrone in the Shamrock Cup was postponed due to the death of Mickey Harte’s brother, Paddy. Meanwhile, the Monaghan ladies footballers continued their winning start to the season with a 3-13 to 1-8 victory away to Mayo.
