ORAM NOTES 22ndFebuary ORAM FIGHT NITE: With just over two weeks to the ‘’FIGHT FORUM IN ORAM’ the buzz around Oram and surrounding clubs is intensifying, preparation are going well under the guidance of the Castleblayney Boxing club, the pairings and match ups will be revealed closer to the event, however we can reveal that our own Rory’The Hammer’ Murphy will fight Eugene ‘The Finisher’ Finnegan from Donaghmoyne in a rematch from the Farney Barney at Christmas, hopefully Rory with a large local support behind him can reverse the previous result. To date the following local club footballers have committed to entering the ring Daniel Forde, Rory Murphy, Stephen Mc Bride, Barry Quinn, , Tommy Mc Kenna, Austin Forde (all Oram) Martin Comiskey & Stephen Courtney (Blackhill) Paddy Conlon, ( Castleblayney) Mark Quinn, Mark O’Neill, Paul Mc Guirk ( All Drumhowan) Eoin Sheridan (Aughnamullan) Eugene Finnegan Nathan McKenna both (Donaghymoyne) Bobby Donaghy (Toome) Gavan King (Doohamlet) and Martin Mc Nally (Crematin) have all confirmed their participation. The date for the fight night has been confirmed as Saturday 12th March, doors open at 7, first bout at 8. Tickets are on sale in Rooneys shop and Neds Kellys main street Castleblayney priced at 20 euros. Children tickets are priced at 5 euro but must be accompanied by an adult, this policy will strictly be adhered to on the night. Already there has been a huge demand for tickets from outside the club so locals are advised to buy early. Anyone wishing to sponsor any of the boxers or indeed the bouts, contact any committee member. WINTER COACHING PROGRAM: The Child Protection and Foundation course was completed last Thursday night in the club a big thank you to the sixteen local coaches who completed the course and all will have found it extremely benifical, thanks to Cepta who made the tea and Marty Corry and Paul Turley who were tutors. The nursery programme will commence shortly coaches will be notified of a meeting in due course. Coaches are asked to check club notes for coaching workshops which take place in Cloghan over the coming months. MEMBERSHIP: Club membership for the coming year in now due, it will be collected in the coming weeks. Priced at 30 euro for adults and 10 euro for students. A number of players have yet to pay and therefore are illegal to play in the opening games as they are not insured. DEBIT DRAW: Committee members will call shortly to renew membership for 2011. CLUB MEETING: Monday at 9, all sponsorship monies for Fight Night to be handed in asap. MONAGHAN COACH EDUCATION & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME 2011: The following are the dates for coaching workshops which are be run by Monaghan Coaching Commitee. Coaching the Coaches u-14-u-16, Cloghan, Paul Turley, Martin Corey March 15th 7pm-9pm. :Fitness with the Football: Cloghan: Paddy Martin: April 4th 7PM-9PM. : Attacking Play, Cloghan: Mattie Mc Gleenan: April 11th 7PM :9PM. :Coaching The Coaches Football under6&under8 Cloghan/Annyalla N.S: Colin Malone: April 12th 7PM-9PM. ORAM GOLF SOCIETY: Almost 30 golfers took part in the inaugural Oram golf society outing in the Concra golf club, first prize went to Martin Carville, 2nd David Lennon, 3rd Mickey Quinn. The next outing will take place in April. RESERVE LEAGUE: Will commence on 12th March with away game in Clones. CLUB REFEREE: The club are seeking a second referee for the coming season, who must complete a minimum of five games in order for the club to get our full allocation of All-Ireland tickets, contact Richard or Hughe for more information. COUNTY U-21: Well done to Cathal and the county u-21 panel who reached the shamrock cup final by defeating Tyrone in Emyvale last Saturday.
