Team Management: The committee ratified the positions for adult team management for 2011 at it’s monthly meeting last week. Lawerence Strain takes charge of the senior team for his third successive term. Shane McKenna retains Reserve B duties while Kieran McKenna & Gerard Treanor are the U-21 management again. The position of Reserve C management has yet to be filled.

Lotto Jackpot now €8,600: There was no winner of last week’s jackpot. The lucky numbers were 4, 13, 22, 23. There were 5 match 3 winners, each receiving €40: Pat Meehan, Gerard Sherry-Drumbern, Belinda Mullan-Belieevin, Daniel McQuaid-Ballinode & Peader McGee(Yearly Ticket). The jackpot now stands at €8,600. Check team: Ursula’s.

Presentation Night: Our annual presentation night has been provisionally booked for Saturday 19th February in St. Mellans.

Handball:

All Ireland Final: Our team were defeated in the All Ireland final in Bawn last Saturday. The defeat was harder to bear as the players felt they didn’t play to their true potential. First in to the alley was Christopher (pj) who lost 21-8 , 21-11. Then in went the doubles of Ian and Eamon who lost 21-5 21-8 which handed the title to Kells leaving Keith with no game needed to be played. Hard luck to all players who had taken part in the competition over its duration: Christopher Mc Kenna(pj), Ian Treanor, Eamon Todd, Keith Sheerin, Conor Mc Ginnity and Padraig Mc Kenna.

Juveniles: are back up and running each Tuesday and Thursday. We have entered players into the county singles championships. A full list of those players entered are listed on the notice boards at St Mellans, so we ask all players to get as much practice as possible and would ask parents to help out with them as much as they can.

All County Competitions fixtures: are now on display at the St Mellans notice board. Please fulfil all fixtures and if unable to do so ring your opponent and inform him.

TG4 Handball: Keep all eyes peeled for the new handball series which has started on TG4 and runs every Monday evening at 8:30pm throughout January.

Mono League: will be concluding very shortly, so any outstanding games must be played now to avoid any disappointments.
