Sean Mac Diarmada Notes 16-12-10

Bi-Centenary Celebrations:

On Sunday last a large crowd turned up to the Bi-Centenary mass at St Mary’s Church. Following the ecumenical service, concelebrated by Bishop Liam Mc Daid, everybody was treated to an excellent meal, and local entertainment in the Complex. We congratulate Fr Mc Cluskey and Fr Tom Coffey, the Pastoral Committee and all those involved on an enjoyable community and family occasion.

Under 8/10’s:

This Saturday, (@10 am, indoors) will be the concluding training session for this group of players for the calendar year. This completes a successful year for our club juveniles and hope to see them all back for 2011.

Membership:
The club membership subscription for 2011 is due in the first couple of weeks of the New Year, and should be paid as soon as possible to new registrar Enda Murphy, who will gratefully accept all donations on behalf of the club. Prompt payment will ensure that you continue to be a club member for 2011.

Ceili/Set Dancing:

Ceili Dancing continues on Monday night in the complex from 6:30 to 7:30pm, and Set Dancing on Tuesday night from 6:30-7:30pm.

Bingo :

Next Monday night will again see spot prizes galore on offer as we count down the days to Christmas; I am reliably informed that a man dressed in festive gear will be there to give a small surprise to both young and old. The mini jackpot on the night will be €700 on 45 calls and the Big Jackpot is approaching €12,000 on 45 calls. Another night not to be missed!!! This will be the last Bingo of 2010, and we will resume on Monday 3rd January 2011.

Christmas Party:

The club’s Christmas party will take place on Saturday 18th December, in the club lounge, which will also feature the local launch of Conor Mc Morrow’s recent publication ‘Dáil Stars’. This is a great opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit and celebrate a successful year on the field of play. Proceedings throw in @ 9:30 and include light refreshments, DJ, and a hamper for the lucky winner of our Christmas Draw. A good night’s entertainment will be guaranteed with your support.
