Congratulations: To Seán McKenna on his re-election as county secretary at last Thursday night’s convention.

Aido File: Congratulations to Seán McKenna on his reappointment as county secretary. Seán has been a clubman with the hurlers since this reporter was in nappies and he has always helped and represented the club as best he can. Thanks Seán and best of luck. On a separate note, Harps hurlers Christmas drinks and unofficial awards night will be held in Tír na nÓg on Wednesday, December 29. All new members are welcome and this is the official invite to all, so spread the word.

Handball: Congratulations to Martin Mullen on winning the county Under-13 blitz in Bawn last Sunday. Congratulations also to Albertas Ovodas on reaching the Under-12 blitz final. Indeed, three of the four semi-finalists were from the Harps club. They were Albertas Seán Conway and Conor McCrystal. This was a great and unexpected achievement from relatively new players to the great game. Thanks to all parents who helped out with the transport. Conor Myles leads in the Challenger 1 league at present. However, he can expect tough opposition from Jakub Szkup and Eoghan McGinnity, so it’s all to play for! The Challenger 2 league begins shortly.

Well done: To Corduff on their Ulster JFC success and hard luck to Doohamlet, who lost the IFC final.

Clubhouse: The Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available now to book for functions and Christmas parties. Contact Liadhan Treanor at 086 7837204 for bookings.
