**Lotto Jackpot now €8,000**: There was no winner of last week jackpot prize of €7,900. The numbers drawn last week were: 3, 9, 13, 21. There were 5 match 3 winners, each receiving €20: Jack McCarville, Colm Cassidy-Bragan, Niamh McGuinness. Jenny McCormick & Kevin McQuaid (Yearly Ticket). Sellers: Liam McKenna & Keith Sheerin. Next week’s jackpot is €8,000. Check Team: Josie’s. The lotto draw will take place at 10.30pm each Sunday night. All tickets must be submitted before 10.15 to ensure entry. Seniors: Our seniors lost by the narrowest last Saturday against Ballybay in a tremendous battle, 3-8 to 1-15. Though we opened the scoring in the 2nd minute with a Chrissy McKenna free, it was Ballybay who had the upper hand in the first half and led 0-7 to 0-2 after 23 minutes. A late flurry of long range points by Adam Treanor and Chrissy McKenna reduced this margin to just 3 points, 0-6 to 0-9 by half time. The second half was a memorable half filled with many fine scores and goals. The game’s first goal came in the 33rd minute from a fisted Niall Rooney goal levelling game. This was followed by a fine individual goal from Chrissy McKenna who sent us back into the lead in the 35th minute. Chrissy McAnanley followed in on the goalscoring act, netting in the 40th minute after a Ballybay point to increase our winning margin 3-6 to 0-10. Ballybay responded with 3 successive points before Adam Treanor pointed from afar to leave just a goal between the sides with 10 minutes remaining. This margin was wiped in the 51st minute when Ballybay converted a penalty. We regained the lead in the 55th minute with an Adam Treanor point but 2 late Ballybay points in the 57th and 59th minutes overturned this lead to leave the full time score Gaeil Triucha 3-8 Ballybay 1-15. Minors:We resume league and championship action in July. U-16: The league now breaks for the exam period. U-14: We lost to Inniskeen in a very high scoring game last Saturday 8-15 to 9-22. We play at home to Scotstown this Thursday, 5th June, at 7.30pm. U-12: Training for U-12 each Monday and Wednesday evening between 7-8pm. Correction to last week’s notes, where we actually defeated Latton 0-12 to 0-11 in the spring league. Seniors: Our seniors lost to Scotstown in the senior championship last Saturday in Clontibret, 0-12 to 1-14. Scotstown opened the scoring with 2 points in the opening 10 minutes only for us to equalise by the 15th minute with scores from Chrissy McKenna and Aidan Coyle. Scotstown retook the lead adding 3 further points by the 20th minute. Chrissy McKenna again registered a point in the 21st minute before Scotstown scored again a minute later to maintain their 3 point margin. Though denied a goal with a point blank save from the Scotstown keeper, we were consoled with 3 points in the 24th, 25th and 30th minute to level the match, our scores from Adam Treanor, Mark Counihan and Chrissy McAnanley. On the stroke of half time, Scotstown converted a free to leave the half time score Gaeil Triucha 0-6 Scotstown 0-7. We quickly levelled matters in the second half with a Chrissy McAnanley point in the 32nd minute before a long range Chrissy McKenna ground ball sent us ahead for the first time in the match by the 37th minute. It was a lead short-lived however as Scostown registered 7 of the next 8 points in the following 15 minutes to lead 0-9 to 0-14 with 8 minutes remaining. Our sole point in this period was a converted Adam Treanor free. We upped the pressure in the final minutes, reducing the margin to 2 points by the 59th minute with 3 points from Adam Treanor, 2 from free kicks. Hopes of a win were quashed however when Scostown scored a last minute goal to close the game 0-12 to 1-14. The loss now takes us into the backdoor side of the competition which is to resume in August. Priced at €20, it includes the full All Ireland final as well as highlights of the matchesenroute to Croke Park. The DVD also carries interviews with players and supporters as well as footage from the homecoming. The DVDs were excellently produced by Lavery Photo and Video and is an essential item in every supporter’s DVD collection. The boxset can be purchased in the club shop.
