Corduff Club Notes

Club Lotto:

Our Club Lotto draw was held on Sunday night last in McConnell’s, Ballytrain. The Numbers drawn were 09, 13, 17 & 19. There was no winner of the Jackpot of €8,400. The five “Lucky Dip” winners were; Alan Martin, Kitty Rogers, Mary Kirk, Mary Dermody & Ann Hand.

Our next draw will take place on Sunday 12th March in McArdle’s Bar, Carrickmacross at 9:00pm, where the Jackpot will be €8,500.

Intermediate Team:

The Intermediate League kicks off on Saturday 8th April with an away trip to Doohamlet, followed by a midweek home fixture against Toome, and another home game to Carrickmacross on Saturday 15th April.

Reserve Team:

Our Reserve team got the 2017 season off to a flyer last Sunday with an impressive 1-12 to 1-08 victory over Clontibret in Corduff. Well done to all involved.

Inter-County Teams:

Monaghan’s footballers succumbed to defeat in Omagh last Saturday evening, losing 0-14 to 0-10 to Tyrone. Monaghan face Roscommon in Pairc Grattan, Inniskeen on Sunday 19th March with a 2:00pm throw-in.

Monaghan’s hurlers have extended their unbeaten run in their Division 3A League, by beating Louth last Sunday in Inniskeen, on a scoreline of 2-12 to 2-09. This Sunday, they make the trip to Letterkenny to face Donegal, with throw-in at 2:00pm. Monaghan’s Under 21 side faced Antrim last night (Wednesday) in the Preliminary Round of the Ulster Under 21 Football Championship. See our Social Media channels for results from the game. Pitch Closure

Following the persistent rain over the past week or so, we have decided to close the Training Pitch in order to allow repair work be done. Remember all pitch bookings are to be made through our Groundsman, Seamus McConnon.

Ladies

Senior Ladies

After the winter recess it’s time for the senior ladies to dust off the cobwebs and get ready for their return to competitive football this weekend. They play round 1 of the senior league on Sunday when they host O’Neill Shamrocks in Corduff. Time to be confirmed.

Once again we have the experienced management team of Diarmuid O’Reilly, Paraic Ruth, Sean King and Conor Comiskey back at the helm and we wish them good luck for the season ahead.

Handball

Jersey Sponsorship:

Our new club jersey was unveiled last Friday night with GPK Builders on board as the Handball Club’s main sponsor. We would like to extend our thanks to Gareth for his sponsorship.

GAA League:

The GAA League team ended the League Stage of the competition last Wednesday night with a 4-4 draw with Monaghan, a result which ensured the team finished in top spot in the league. The semi-final will be played next Wednesday evening in Corduff, with the match starting at 7:30pm.

Corduff Singles League:

The Singles League is into its last week now with all games to be played before this Friday evening. The semi-finals will begin on Monday 13th.

Juvenile Training:

Our Juvenile Training has ended for the season and will return in the Autumn. The Handball Club would like to thank Pat Sheridan for all his help over in the past few months in coaching our youngsters.
