The action continues in the Monaghan football leagues this weekend. On Friday evening, there is a local derby between Seán McDermotts and Éire Óg in the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League, as well as two games in the Gerry’s Takeaway, Ballybay Junior Football League, where Blackhill host Toome and Killanny take on Oram.

There is a full round of games in the Drumlin Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League on Saturday. Two of the matches are top-versus-bottom, as Inniskeen make the trip to the north of the county to take on joint-leaders Truagh while Scotstown are at home to co-leaders Ballybay. Monaghan Harps will be hoping to maintain the only remaining 100% record in the SFL when they host Latton. Clontibret and Magheracloone go head-to-head in a repeat of last year’s SFC Final, while the other game sees Castleblayney and Doohamlet clash.

In the IFL, two of the form teams meet when Rockcorry face Currin, while Carrickmacross travel to Drumhowan and Donaghmoyne make the journey to Tyholland. JFL table-toppers Cremartin have a home game against Emyvale, with Aghabog up against Clones.

The ‘Game of the Week’ takes place on Sunday at 5pm when Aughnamullen play Corduff at Sarsfield Park. Having been promoted last year by winning the Monaghan JFC before going on to lift the Ulster title – only to have it taken off them in the boardroom – Corduff have hit the ground running in the intermediate league and they are top of the table with two wins from two. County Under-21 Keith McEnaney has been in fine form for Corduff, who have had comprehensive wins over Éire Óg and Tyholland. Aughnamullen have had a mixed start, losing narrowly to Rockcorry and drawing with both Tyholland and Drumhowan.

The weekend also features games in the Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Divisions Three and Four. The GRM Minor Football Leagues continue on Tuesday evening and on Wednesday, there are full rounds of games in the top two divisions of the RFL.
