Children of families who are returning to Castleblayney with their parents for the Gathering are particularly welcomed. To date we have received a lot of registrations and we ask that all parents return their completed forms to the coaches this week. Spaces are limited so we would like to get an idea of the number of children attending so we can get another great summer camp organised.

Visitors – The Club was a hive of activity on Saturday as we had some very special visitors. On Saturday morning the Under 8 and Under 10 teams got to see the two new Ulster Championship Cups, won by the Senior and Minor County teams. The Boys all got to get their photograph with the cup. Then Club legend Declan Loughman explained the significance of the day to the players and outlined to the boys the dedication and preparation it takes to win such major honours. Later on Saturday evening the Club played host to the Guernsey Gaels, Jason Hughes led the Blayney team on the night and was well supported by all including Club Chairperson Stephen Dignam who demonstrated some very skilful touches.

Under 16 – Well done to the Under 16 team who had a hard earned one point victory over Rockcorry last Thursday night.  As a result, they have now qualified for the semi-final of the league. Well done to all players and managers, keep it up.

Then on Monday 29th July the girls traveled to Doohamlet, and emerged victorious against a very spirited Doohamlet side.  These girls have worked extremely hard all season in training, and continue to improve with every game they play.  That now completes the U12 Girls league program and we now await further fixtures for the upcoming shield competition.

Under 10 Boys – The under 10 boys had a couple of great training sessions this week with the County Coaches Conor and Ann.
