County – Well done to our County team who had a comprehensive win against Antrim in the Ulster Senior Championship on Sunday in a sun soaked Casement Park. This is a very young Castleblayney team who had some very good performers on the night from Joshua Walsh,Francis Mc Geough, and Ryan Mc Kiernan. The week is busy for the boys, they are down to play away to Aughnamullen this Thursday night at 7 pm and have an away match on Saturday versus Ballybay at 12pm.
Under 14 Girls – The young ladies travelled to Corduff for the final game of their league season ,trailing by two points at half time the young Faughs Ladies came out and put in a great twenty minutes and led by three points, tiredness they kick in as the girls conceded a couple of goals which allowed Corduff to run out three point winners.Best on the night for the girls was Erin Brady, Eileen Cullen ,Jodie Mc Quillan and Derbhla Mc Quaid. These girls have been a crdit to the club ,they have trained very hard and gone everywhere with a smile on their face ,this is the first time the Club and entered an official team into ladies football and the girls such be congratulated on been great ambassadors for the Club .Preparation for next year will start straight away with training on Monday night at six and again on Saturday morning at 12pm in the football field.
Under 12 Boys – Well done to both our under 12 teams this week ,first up on a very hot Saturday morning was our young development team who played Oram. The lads put in a strong performance right throughout the game and were well ahead at the end of the match .Star performers on the day were Fionan Kelly, Ciaran Duffy,Iain Kindlan, and Conor Rice. The Under 12 Senior team were up next as they played Latton in a tough game. Latton start off with a couple of great goals and put the Blayney team under pressure from the off at half time Blayney trailed by five points but this young team have great character and whatever words of wisdom that the management team had to say at half time it worked as it was a different Blayney team who took the pitch in the second half. The boys moved the ball well , with a forward line making use of the ball to great effect as they put up two goals and five points without reply to run out winners at the final whistle .Best for the Senior team were Niall Carville, Rory Mc Glynn, Colm Bishop and James Mc Adam.
