Monaghan’s senior footballers battled past Antrim in the Ulster SFC quarter-finals at Casement Park on Sunday (see match report).

Blackhill got their second win of this year’s Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship when they cruised past Oram in Ballybay on Saturday. Paul Finnegan and Colin Woods were among the goal-scorers for league leaders Blackhill, as they put their neighbours to the sword. Meanwhile, Aghabog started their campaign with a narrow win over Éire Óg. Friday’s scheduled game was conceded by Feargal O’Hanlons to Emyvale.

Inniskeen started the Silver Hill Foods Senior Hurling Championship with a comprehensive win at home to Clontibret on Thursday, while Carrickmacross had six points to spare against Truagh and the game between holders Castleblayney and Monaghan Harps was postponed.

Killanny are up to third in the Eurotech Junior Football League after they got the better of Toome on Friday.

Clontibret and Truagh will contest the Platinum Tanks Reserve Football Championship O’Duffy Cup Final after they won Saturday’s semi-finals. Clontibret pulled away in the second half of their game against Ballybay, while Truagh held off a comeback from Monaghan Harps to edge through. Donaghmoyne booked their place in the Crawley Cup Final with a three-point win over Seán McDermotts.

There were also games in the Platinum Tanks Reserve Football Leagues on Wednesday. Monaghan Harps, Scotstown and Magheracloone had wins over Latton, Clontibret and Castleblayney respectively in Division 1A on Wednesday, while Ballybay and Cremartin took the points in Division 1B at the expense of Tyholland and Drumhowan. Donaghmoyne edged out Carrickmacross to maintain their 100% record in Division 2A, where the other game saw Emyvale ease past Inniskeen. Aughnamullen defeated Seán McDermotts in Division 2B.
