Drumhowan Club Notes 19/2/13

Juvenile Presentation Night – We held our presentation night on Sunday evening last with the Community Centre packed to capacity. Medals were presented to the winning under 12 and 14 teams from last year and to our various scor winners. All players and musicians were also presented with a framed photo of their team. The loudest cheer of the night was when team captains Owen Quinn and Daniel Tomany carried the Sam Maguire Cup into the hall to join the host of other cups on display. Seamus Mc Elwaine County Cultural Officer thanked the club for supporting scor and had special praise for our club Cultral Officer Pauline Grogan. He wished our Instrumental Music group well in the All Ireland Scor final in Derry this weekend and then this group entertained us with a few tunes. Paul Finlay then said a few words of encouragement to the youngsters and presented the medals to both teams. The team management of both teams were thanked for the dedication and presented with Tracksuit tops. A special presentation was made to Martin and Gerry Quinn of Quinns Quality Meats who sponsored the Summer Camp for the past two years. County Children’s Officer John Mc Ardle spoke on child protection and thanked all the coaches in the club who give up their time to coach all the various teams. Thanks to all who helped to organise the event, Paul Finlay, Ted Duffy and Kieran Mooney who attended with the three Championship Cups, Barry Tomany for the Photo display and all the ladies who helped prepare and serve the food. Thanks also to Gerry Mc Elroy and Gerry Quinn who supplied the food.
