Last Man Standing

It’s safe to say last week really knocked the stuffing out of the most of the remaining participants! With over 130 gone after the Arsenal and Utd game it left after only 3 weeks we are down to the last 3!! Best of luck to the final 3.

First aid/ Defibrillator course

The club are working to organise a training and refresher course on the use of the defibrillator. It will be run in clones on the 15th of February. We hope to have as many possible to receive what could be lifesaving training. Anyone who wishes to do so, please contact Margaret Tierney on, 00447714100562.

Social night

The night is finally upon us! After weeks of waiting the big night is here..This Saturday night see’s our annual Social night take place with what is expected to be a serious night’s craic. Kicking off at 9.30 pm we are going to run the family’s races first.

Race No.1 will see Brian Corley and family take on Mike Hamill and his crew…

No.2 Its Sinead Gavin and Family against Seamie Sewell and his crew..

No.3 is the might Dan Toal and Co. take on Collette Kerr and her helpers on the night..

No.4 Is the big one. 2 families related are going to go head to head for the bragging rights when Paddy Monaghan and family take on Micky Monaghan and his family!

And our last family race will be Micky Tierney and his family take on Dick McAree and his crew..

For the family races the top 2 familys to have travelled the furthest distance in a minute go into the final for a head to head show down to lift the title of Smithboro’s fittest Family!

After our annual player of the year awards is when our induvial races start.. 3 single races amongst the Senior team both past and present will take part to see who has the legs and take the title.

Our finale for the night is a battle of the Counties which we are sure to provide the nights entertainment! Lined up representing Monaghan is Seamie Briney, for Armagh we have Micky Mc Bride, and for Tyrone is Raymond Mc Meel.. We would like to thank Sharron McAree and Coral leisure for the loan of the spin bikes, without them it wouldn’t have been possible for the night to go ahead.

Once again we hope everyone spreads the word and feel free to bring a few friends.

We will have the local Patrick Power bookmakers with us on the night if anyone fancy’s a wee flutter!! It’s hopped to have as many of our new club members join us for what will be a very enjoyable night.

Smithboro Walking Club

Walking takes place every Monday and every Thursday at 7.30pm sharp and every Saturday at 9.30am sharp. New members always welcome.

U14’s

Our u14’s will start up next Tuesday the 14th at 6.30pm to 7.30pm in the complex for circuit training. If any of the parents of some of the u12 teams wish to send the kids feel free. Management for the year will remain the same with Ollie Treanor and Donal Tierney. Please bring water and runners.

All Ireland Feile 2017

For the first time in the clubs history we will be entering a team in this year’s feile and by doing so we become a host club. As a host club we will be looking for family’s willing to take some players from all around the Country who will be participating in the feile. In order to be a host family every member of that family over 18 will need to be garda vetted but once we have all the family’s lined up we will get all vetting done at once. We hope to have more info on this within the next couple of days and will keep everyone informed. In the meantime if you would like to be a host family please make it known to any member of the committee.

Juvenile meeting

Anyone wishing to help out with any of our youth teams a meeting will be held in the Clubhouse Thursday the 9th at 8pm. Even if you just wish to help by lifting cones at a training session all our managers will appreciate an extra pair of hands.
