Josh Kavanagh settled down then and showed his strong 60×30 power serves around the left sidewall and backwall to gain a slender lead. There were some fine rallies between both players and an exhibition of great skills also. Eoghan battled hard in the first game, but the Wexford Juvenile had too much power and won the game 15-7. The second game was a tense affair and both players served well and covered alot of ground around the court. There was nothing between the players at 8-7 and they were stuck at that scoreline for about five minutes. It was eoghan that edged forward at this point to lead 10-8 with some fabulous kills from the back of the court in to the right hand corner. Risky but effective and impressive. Josh Kavanagh then increased the power in his serves and Eoghan missed a few kill shots, and Josh levelled the match at 11-11. The game could have then gone anyway, but unfortunately it did not go to the Farney County. Josh Kavanagh went on to win the game and match 15-11. It was a gallant effort by Eoghan, and he did deserve to take it to a third game, but a few missed kill shots and putting his serve out of play on a few occasions proved too costly. But overall, it was a great game of handball from Eoghan and Josh, but the more powerful serves and consistently returning of the ball to the front wall by the Wexford player proved the difference between them. No doubt these lads will continue to meet in future finals, in either 40×20, One Wall or 60×30. Thank you to the support that travelled all the way from Wexford, Tyrone and Monaghan and to St Macartans for the use of their facilities
