Juvenile County Doubles Championships. We had boys playing in the U12,U13 & U14 Doubles competition Saturday past the 15th in St.Mellans, Tydavnet and the Harps, in the U12’s we had no finalists but Aaron Cassidy & Mark Deery very near made the final only to be defeated 11-6 in a tie-breaker in the semi-final, in the U13 Padraig Treanor & David Mc Kenna lost their final 11-15, 10-15, it was a very well contested final with some brilliant rallies throughout, but on another day the score line could have very easily been different story, in the U15’s Ryan Harnet & Ronan Boyle lost the final on a score line of 3-15, 12-15, having lost the first game the boys re-grouped and very nearly took the 2nd to take it to a tie breaker and the boys on the way that they played they definitely deserved it, hard luck to all the players that took part that some winners silverware wasn’t taken home, but just not to be, the U15 competition takes place this Saturday the 23rd in St.Mellans @10am, Packie Mc Meel & Ryan Boyle are in action along with Sean O Reilly & Karl Mc Meel, good luck to all taking part.
