                                                                                  Sean’s Notes

Adult team.   With the 2013 football season coming to a close our adult squad are where they want to be…in a county final. Next Sunday they take the field in Drumhowan for a 2.00pm throw  in. Despite the gods frowning on them as their injury woes worsen, they will be hoping they can produced a performance that will see them get the better of opponents Oram  to claim the Junior Football League trophy the Dr.Ward Cup and win promotion back to intermediate ranks. It’s not going to be easy against a highly rated and very determined Oram side but manager Adrian Larkin knows this, and he will have impressed on his charges that it will take a four star performance and tremendous work rate over the sixty minutes if they are to claim this prize and finish their season off in style. We wish the panel and their management team the very best of luck and we hope all Sean’s supporters will turn out in force to give them the support and encouragement they deserve. See you all there Sunday: Drumhowan: 2 o’ clock.

Breakfast Morning.  Some 24 hours before their date with destiny the team are hosting a breakfast morning from 10.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday 2nd November in the complex. Come along and give them your support and enjoy a real hearty Irish breakfast into the bargain. It’s an occasion that should not to be missed. This is the players own fundraising idea and an effort much appreciated by the club to help reduced some of the costs associated with adult team training, but it is also worth noting and highlighting that the boys are also committed to making a hefty donation from funds raised to the Donal Walsh # Livelife Foundation…. People may be aware of the Kerry teenager Donal Walsh, who made an impassioned plea for young people to talk about their problems before he died from cancer in May.The 16-year-old wrote an open letter to the media about young people and suicide earlier this year, before appearing on RTÉ’s Saturday Night Show with Brendan O Connor where he spoke about how he was coping with his illness, and encouraged others who are feeling low to talk to someone they trust.   Please come along and support the team and this most worthy of causes.

Under 10’s.  Where’s your boots??? Get your gear together; you have a game on Sunday! Yes, during the interval in Drumhown budding stars from both Seans and Oram will get the opportunity to show off their team work and skills in a 9 a side Under 10 game. Panel members will be notified by parental text later in the week and we will be relying on parents too to ensure their child is in Drumhowan to participate in this half time match….  Girls and Boys enjoy the game…  .

Congratulations . To the Sean’s ladies football team who showed the lads how it should be done last Sunday when overcoming Donaghmoyne to take home the trophy…  To the local ICA guild who gathered all their present and past member together from near and far also last weekend to celebrated a milestone anniversary,  40 years of support and friendship in the heart of our community… well done both sets of ladies
