Senior Football.
The Intermediate league campaign resumed last Sunday eve when Drumhowan visited Pairc Grattan.
Our lads game out of the dressing rooms with all guns blazing and raced into a 1-01 to no score lead thanks to a first minute goal from Doni Meegan and a point from Matty Mc Kenna.
However we where brought firmly back down to Earth when Drumhowan answered with a goal and a point without reply.
The rest of the half became a tense affair as both teams swapped points, ours coming from the boot of Mixie Lennon, Paul Meegan, Ronan Meegan, Alan Ryan and Donal Meegan.
We went in at half time leading by 2 points with the score 1-06 to 1-04.
One personal change occurred at half time when Fergal Duffy replaced Donal Meegan, and what an impact Fergal made on the game.
Inniskeen took on a more direct tactic and with the first ball of the half that came over the top; Duffy who recently returned after a serious Ankle injury, fielded above his marker and finished clinically to the roof of the net.
That set the tone for the rest of the half as Inniskeen tagged on some great scores shortly after by Paul, Ronan Meegan and Michael Lennon who was making some great runs into the forty from Midfield.
Inniskeen Started to get a grip in the full back line, with Trevor Hillard putting in some top Class tackling along with Alan Ryan who was been used as our sweeper.
We pushed on to become eventual winners by a score line of 2-13 to 1-11.
It was a great way to kick off the 2nd half of the season. We currently sit in third position, one point off Currin in second place.
We need to keep that Momentum going now as next up is tough assignments away to Corduff and Donaghmoyne.

Senior Hurling
The seniors put on a great performance last week when they set about dismantling Carrick in the semi-final of the Championship.
The game which was played last Thursday in Aughnamullen, ended with a score line of 3-27 to 2-06.
The win has set up a replay of last year’s final against Blayney. Let’s hope we can go one better this year.
The final which was originally fixtured for this Sunday has been moved (by our request due to unavailability of county star Doni Meegan) to Saturday 17th of August at 6pm in Clontibret.
Please come out and support the lads as they are putting in a huge effort.
Reserve footballers
The Reserves brought this year’s campaign to a conclusion with a hard fought win over Corduff last Friday in Pairc Grattan.
It was a very disappointing season as the majority of results did not go our way, however the lads dug deep to defeat Corduff by 3-13 to 3-10.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank Pete Meegan and Dermot McArdle for their efforts this year as the results were not a reflection of their management, more a reflection of how the squad depleted due to work commitments, Injuries and Immigration.
Also it was great to see Dermot McArdle making his first start after coming back from the Horrific Knee injury sustained in the championship last summer. Dermot contributed 1-01 from full forward and thankfully the Knee held up well and showed no ill effects afterwards.
Well done to all player and management for their efforts.
Junior Championship in Pairc Grattan
Pairc Grattan welcomed Killanny and Toome for their junior football championship encounter last Sunday. Both teams battled out a 1-10 to 1-10 draw.
They will have to lock horns again to see who goes through.
Farney Army on the road Again
All roads lead to Croke Park Saturday as the seniors take on Tyrone at 5pm in the All Ireland Qtr final.
There has been a huge surge in ticket requests through the club so no doubt we will be we represented in HQ when the ball is thrown in.
The minors also play their qtr final on Monday against Tipp in Longford, I would like to give a special best wishes to Grattan star Doni Meegan who is a key member of the minor panel.
He played just 30 minutes of our senior game last Sunday and it was clear to see the talent on display as he chalked up 1-01 in the short space of time he was on the pitch.
Best wishes and fingers crossed for the Boys and Men in blue this weekend. Hopefully we will be back down the road for the Semi against either Donegal or Mayo.

Inniskeen Camogie Notes
Seniors: The Louth League Final took place last Sunday week in Philipstown where our girls took on Mattock Rangers of Collon.
After Monaghan Seniors & Minors winning earlier in Clones the girls were well and truly focused on continuing the winning trend, however it was Collon who got off to the better start with a couple of fine points from play.
Inniskeen finally settled into the game after a converting a number of frees. However it was Collon who went into the break with their tails up after netting a goal to leave the half time score 1.03 to 0.04. After a stern talking to from the management it was Inniskeen who came out in the second half firing on all cylinders. Within a minute of the restart we had the ball in the back of the Collon net.
The Collon girls didn’t lie down and caused trouble with their surging runs through the middle and long clearances.
However it was Inniskeen’s day as 3 more goals and 2 points followed to leave the full time score 4.06 to 1.07. Captain Linda Callan proudly accepted the cup thanking all the girls and management for their tremendous effort throughout the year. Celebrations went long into the night with everyone jiving and dancing into the wee small hours! Inniskeen Camogie Abu!
Coaching Workshop: There has been a good turnout of parents and players at the coaching workshop held by Ger Gribben, Regional Development Officer for the Camogie Association.
The aim of the workshop is to help coaches coach the basic skills to our underage players and to develop their own coaching session. The 3rd and final night takes place this Tuesday 6th August at 7pm in Grattan Park. Parents & players are all welcome to attend even if you were unable to attend any of the previous sessions.
