Castleblayney Faughs

June 5th, 2013

Seniors – The seniors are back in action next Wednesday 12th with an away fixture against Doohamlet.

Junior B’s – The Bs exited tamely from the championship last weekend as Truagh beat them comfortably. A poor period either side of half time did the damage with Truagh adding an unanswered 2-5 in that time. Last night (Wednesday) we were away to Magheracloone in the league, result next week).

County – Best of luck to Dermot, Marty and the rest of the panel as they take on Antrim this weekend in the Ulster Championship

“Who wants to be a Thousandaire” – It has finally arrived…..This Saturday night we will host our big night in The Glencarn Hotel. The show is a professionally run version of the popular tv game show and on the night 8 lucky people will get the opportunity to play for €1000 each. There are still some tickets available from committee members and local businesses around the town like Declan Loughman Sports, McMahons SuperValu, Ned Kellys and from Sarah Mackin at the Faughs Lotto stand. We’d urge all our members and supporters to come along and enjoy the night.

Under 14 Girls – The girls played a very strong Eire Og team on Monday night, they battled hard right throughout the match from the first whistle to the last. Next week we play our final league game away to Corduff on Monday night at 7pm. This should be another good game, the competition has been a great experience for all involved and can only help the players develop further as we seek to build Ladies football in Castleblayney.

Under 12 Boys – The Development team are down to face Oram on Saturday in St Marys Park at 12pm, this will be a good test for how the boys are developing versus a strong Oram team. The Senior Under 12 team will then play Latton at 1.15pm in St Marys Park, if the previous game in the Spring league is anything to go by then this is a fixture that shouldn’t be missed. Both teams are skilful and there are good forwards on both side. Can ask that the parents again show their support  on Saturday. Training continues tonight (Thursday) at 7pm and again on Tuesday at 6.15pm.
