Adult Team news.   Our adult team’s competitive league action commences next Sunday 31st March when they have home advantage against Scotstown at 4.00pm. Despite the artic conditions prevailing this novel league pairing should attract a big number of supporters, the outcome of this opening encounter with the new kids on the block Scotstown will be view with interested. Our boys will be hoping to claim two early league points but the visitors will have similar aspirations so should make an exciting start to the 2013 Dr Ward Cup competition. Training continues on Tuesday nights at 7.30pm and on Friday at 8.00pm all players are reminded to bring both boot and runners to these sessions…

Spectator Covered Accommodation. We hope to see  big support turn up on Sunday next for that opening game of the season, those that do will  be happy to know that  they will be sheltered from the elements with the erection of new covered spectator accommodation now almost complete. Thanks to Peadar Mc Elvaney and his engineering staff who have been on site and have without any fuss moving construction along at some pace over the last few weeks. No doubt our own and visiting supporters will be especially appreciative of this shelter.

Under 8/10. Coaching sessions for all in this age category commences on Saturday 6th April from 10.00-11.00am, as was evident from our very well attended information/registration meeting on Friday night last all the youngsters are eagerly awaiting outdoor action. A word of thanks to the many parents who attended, your support and interest gives the coaches involved a shot in the arm knowing their efforts is appreciated. Thank you. To the coaching crew themselves who put their heads together to provide a very useful information pack and itinerary for the season especially co–ordinator Adrian Forde …take a bow!!!. See you all on Saturday 6th; don’t forget that GUMSHIELD. The second leg of a work shop gear toward Under10/12 coaches takes place this Thursday 28th March in Scotstown from 7.30-9.30pm.

Go Games referees. Training for go games referees takes place on Thursday 28th March from 11.00 to 2.00pm; anyone wishing to participate in this training must be over 14 years of age.

First Aid course. All those who have indicated their intention to complete the club’s internal First Aid Course should note this course get under way on Tuesday 26th March at 7.00pm sharp, and will continue for the next month on Tuesday nights at the same time 7.00-10.00pm.Participation costs are borne by the club but there will be an expected pay back in terms of time and making available this newly acquired knowledge for the welfare and care of the club’s juveniles during games

Membeship. This week sees the final round up of club membership subscriptions which are now for renewal and should be paid to club registrar Marie Mc Entee before 31st March…  The membership fee remains at €20. Club membership registration details are updated online annually and recorded in Croke Park, to ensure inclusion as a current member with the entitlements that brings; all membership subscriptions must be paid before the above deadline.

Ceili Dancing. Ceili dancing classes continue in the complex this Sunday at the usual time of 6.30pm -7.30pm. Paula, Edel & Michelle look forward to seeing all the regulars, and of course newcomers are especially welcome.

Totto. The numbers 6, 5,7,4,3,1,8,2, drawn on Monday night last for a jackpot prize of €7,700 were not correctly forecast. The lucky dip winners were Brian Keelan Stranooden, Olivia Mc Connon Killnaclay, Ciaran/Eamonn Fay Drumsheeney, Shay Elliott Corcaghan, Marie Mc Entee Threemilehouse, Kilmore & Drumsnatt Community Games, John Mc Elvaney Drumguill, Tristan /Alannah Keelan Stranooden, Gerry Mc Eneany Monaghan, and R. Cassidy Lecklevera.Next week’s (Week 14) jackpot is €7,800.

A big thank you to all who continue to support the club’s weekly totto draw we hope that generosity will continue, to maintain and ensure the opportunity to win our handsome jackpot and the other weekly prizes on offer all members are required to renew their participation, if in doubt please contact any committee member or your usual co-ordinator…

Bard of Oriel.  A great night’s entertainment of humour and verse was enjoyed by those who attended The Bard of Oriel competition in the Complex on Saturday night last 23rd March. The title of Bard of Oriel was claimed by Finbarr Mc Gee from Newry with his rendition of The Volkswagen Camper. A big thank you to the competitors and to all who bought tickets and supported the event on the night.

Sympathy. We extend our sincerest sympathy to Seamus and Eamonn Mulligan and the Family circle on the death of their sister Margaret Mc Kenna (Carrick-on Shannon). Go ndeana Dia trocaire ar a n-anam.

Easter Camp. Monaghan Coaching and Games Development Committee are organising a 3 day Easter camp for boys and girls between 5 and 12 years on 2nd/3rd /4th April.The venues are Pearse Brothers’ Football Grounds, Ballybay, Kilmore Training Grounds Scotstown, and St Tiernachs Park Clones.Gaelic Football, Hurling and Comogie are all covered, further information and application forms are available to down load from the Monaghan website monaghangaa.ie

Cultural Night: On the back of some very entertaining sessions of late, we look forward with great anticipation, to our next Traditional session, when we’ll be celebrating our 2nd anniversary!!
