Adult Handball Championships: A lot of our adult players have been playing in the handball championship in all grades over the past few weeks and the cream is slowly but surely coming to the top. Casualties so have been all our novice four players namely David Treanor, Kevin Boylan, Peadar Sherry and Damien McKenna, Steven Treanor and Damien Martin. In the novice three grade, Niall Boylan, Gary Holohan and Sean Mohan are all out while Emmet Caulfield is playing Conor Holohan tonight (Thursday) in the semi-final so we are guaranteed at least one county finalist. In Novice two Pat Meehan is out while Mickey Eoin defeated Kevin McCague during the week and he now faces Niall Reilly from Corduff in the semi-final (tonight Thursday) in Monaghan. In novice one Noel Bogue is out while Paul Cassidy and Cormac Sherry are very much in contention. In the junior grade Mickey Holohan is out while Patrick McMahon is still there but faces a major task in the semi-final against St Mellan’s Eamon Todd. In the Minor Championship James Morrow reached the semi-final where he was defeated by Eugene McGeough from Bawn after putting up a good performance. The draw has yet to be made for the Senior Championship, so more news of that later.
