Seniors:
Scotstown were hit with a sucker punch right at the end of their SFL
clash with Castleblayney on Saturday last, as the Faughs scored a goal
from a penalty to give them a two point win. Castleblayney took an
early lead in the game at Oram, before Scotstown drew level midway
through the first half. Scotstown hit the next four points, but
‘Blayney whittled down the lead to trail by two at the break, 0-9 to
0-7. The Blues preserved a two point lead for the majority of the
second half, but just when it looked like they had done enough to earn
a victory, they conceded a penalty in added time. Dermot Malone
rattled the net with the resulting kick to win the game. The final
round of Senior League games take place this Saturday at 4:30pm, with
Scotstown at home to Magheracloone. There are five teams including
Scotstown still battling for the last semi-final place, so it is still
all to play for in the league.

Under 16s:
Scotstown finally came out on top at the end of an epic under-16
Championship Final replay at Oram on Saturday, with a 2-13 to 1-15
victory over Donaghmoyne. Scotstown had the better of the first half,
and led by two points at the break. Donaghamoyne had the aid of the
strong breeze in the second half, and a goal with eight minutes left gave
them hope of victory. Scotstown showed great determination to stay in
the game, and they kept their lead until last minute pointed free
salvaged a draw for the Fontenoys. Both sides looked tired in the
extra-time that followed, but Donaghmoyne had the momentum and
outscored Scotstown by three points to two by the end of the first
period. The game looked over for Scotstown as they trailed by a point
with just two minutes remaining, until Kieran Treanor found the back
of the net with a left footed strike. Donaghmoyne got one back before
the final whistle went to confirm a Scotstown win by the narrowest of
margins. The Scotstown team and scorers were: Ciaran Toal; Rory
McCarthy, Caolan McElwain, Philip O’Connell; James Sherry, Enda
McAloon, Ben McDevitt; Jack Turley (captain), Brendan Boylan (0-1);
James Sherry (0-2), Francis Maguire (0-3), Shane McMahon; Kevin
Treanor, Conor McKenna (1-4), Kieran Treanor (1-3). Substitutes used:
