We took on Championship Semi Finalists Drumhowan in a Sunny Corduff on Sunday at twelve. From a scoring perspective it was a Peter Dooley – David Millar show. Killanny opened the scoring from a free taken by Dooley after 2 minutes. It took Drumhowan 23 minutes to open their scoring with a David Millar free. Some good defending by Killanny closed out a couple of Drumhowan goal chances. With good scores from play Eddie Markey – Mark Conlon, Killanny led at half time 6 – 3. With the introduction after the break up front of Andrew Kieran and at the back Tommy Kiernan Killanny opened their second half account after 2min with a free converted by Peter Dooley. After some good team – work rate – passing sees Andrew Kieran scores his first senior football point from play. Drumhowans Mooney gets a goal & points from McGuirk – Millar narrowing the gap to 2, Stephen McMahon was replaced by Adam Kieran after a fine display in defence, Killanny converted again to run out deserving winners with a score line of Killanny 0-13 Drumhowan 1-08, a great team effort by all.

Scotstown 0g 6p
We were first out of the blocks on Thursday evening last to make sure that the McNally Cup would head south of the County in this Division1 final which was played in Blackhill in front of a sizable crowd. Jack Kiernan was quickest to react when a high ball was sent to the square by Conor Russel and Jack fisted to the back of the net just after one minute. A dream start. Michael McBride followed with a point and on the 9th minute Conor Vernon displayed his accuracy skill by stroking a dead ball over from a free. Scotstowns first score on the 15th minute was quickly cancelled out by a Dermot Leegan point. . Conor Vernon who was having an excellent game i lar na pairce once again showed his skill on the 18th minute when he converted a free. Scotstown replied on the 20 minute but Cill Eanna were not going to let their opponents get a grip on this game so Conor Russel popped up with another point. Dermot Leegan finished with a point after a 45 from Conor Vernon dropped short and Dermot added another free to bring the half time score to Cill Eanna 1g 7p to Scotstown og 3p. At the re-start a re vamped Scotstown team were getting more into the game but registered several wides. Conor Vernon steadied the ship with a point on the 5th minute and Scotstown replied with a point. Our opposition were getting more and more possession but their inability to score was in fact the rock on which they perished. Aaron McMahon replaced Peter McMahon and the 2 Conors Vernon and Russel had points on the board on the 19 and 20th minute. A high ball was sent to the waiting Jack Kiernan who knocked it down to super sub Aaron McMahon who made his day by slotting past the keeper. Scotstown added another point but Conor Russel and MJ Callan who worked hard all through this game got his just rewards with a point. Scotstown finished the scoring with a point. Captain Conor Vernon can feel very proud as he is the first under 16 captain to accepted the Division 1 McNally Cup in the history of our club. County Board pro John Kieran presented the cup to Conor and after a cupla focail it was off for the celebrations.
Team and scorers.
Shane Grimes in goals didnt put a foot wrong in this game and his kick outs were reaching the half way mark. The full back line of twins Jamie and Robert Berg and Caolan Duffy were solid in defence clearing and mopping up everything that came close. Half back line of Adam Duffy Dermot Leegan (3p)and Ciaran Leegan were first to every ball and linked in well with their midfield and set up the forwards as well as scoring themselves. Midfielders Seamus McConnon and Conor Vernon(4p) were excellent and worked tirelessly back defending and up scoring. Half forwards Michael McBride(1p) Conor Russel(3p) and MJ Callan(1p) were so confident on the ball and going forward were a delight to watch. Full forwards Mark Grimes Jack Kiernan(1g) and Peter McMahon were always in the driving seat and hassled their opposition when not in possession. Subs Aaron McMahon(1g) Ciaran McConnon and Shane Gartland came on and did their bit.
