Silver Hill Foods Development Hurling League Final

Castleblayney v Inniskeen, Thursday, 7.45, Killanny

Castleblayney and Inniskeen contest the inaugural Development Hurling League Final on Thursday evening.

Blayney will go in as favourites after finishing joint-top of the group and easing past Clontibret in the semi-finals last Thursday. Inniskeen held on to narrowly see off Monaghan Harps in the semis after finishing fourth in the league.

Both teams are without their county senior hurlers in this competition, but they will be hoping to step up their performance levels with the senior league starting this week. Inniskeen have players of the ability of Ronan, Donal and Tadhg Meegan and David McGahon, but Blayney’s mixture of experience and youth in the likes of David Connolly, David Bolger, Hugh Byrne, Ronan McAteer and Tony Forde should see them over the line.

The Division One game between Clontibret and Castleblayney has been postponed, while Tyholland have conceded their game against Latton. On Saturday, Scotstown travel to Aghabog in the last remaining Platinum Tanks Crawley Cup quarter-final. There are also games in the RFL Division One, where Truagh take on Monaghan Harps and Division Three, where Emyvale go to Toome to take on Castleblayney.
