Latton GFC Notes – Week Beginning 23th April.

 

* Lotto
On Sunday 22th in the Maple bar Rockcorry numbers drawn were: 16-21-10-22, Bonus No 4. No winner. €20 winners: Breda & Mairead mc Elory, Latton. Tony Keys, Cootehill. Josie Higgins, c/o Kay Farmer. * Senior Football

We played Carrick at home on sat evening, In a disappointing game of football Latton were beaten by 2pts. Best for Latton,  K, Farrely. S, Fitzpatrick. O, Lennon. Latton 1-06 Carrick 2-05. We play away to Clontibret on Saturday evening at a changed time of 5 30.

Reserve league

We played Monaghan at home on Wed 18th; Latton played some great football in the first half and went in winning by 3pts at half time. Monaghan scored a goal with time running out to go 1pt up, the latton lads showed great character to work the ball up field for the equalising point. Latton 0-12 Monaghan 1-09. Team: C, Brady. Minor league

We played Truagh at home on Tuesday evening the 17th. Playing with a strong wind in the first half Latton kicked some nice scores and went in winning  by 5pts at half time. Truagh scored two goals early in the second half to put them in front, Latton responded well and a Francis mc Elory penalty set them up for a deserved 2pt victory. U-8 & U 10

Training on Friday evening for all boys and girls from 6 to 7.  Any parents who are not getting text messages about training contact juvenile management.

U-12

Our next game is at home to Magheracloone on 1st May.  Training on Tuesday evenings at 6-30.

U-16

Next game V-Toome on 26th at home. Training on Thursday evenings at 7 o’clock.

Presentation night

On Friday night Latton GAA held a presentation night for a true football man the great Tommy Bates. The large crowd heard the guest speakers talk of a man who had dedicated his life to football, from when he first played with Latton in the forties to present day where he never misses a game, Tommy always give 110% to football and especially Latton football.  Latton GAA wishes Tommy and family all the best for the future. A special thank you to all who turned up for making the night so enjoyable.

School football

Our school team played in the Cumann na mbunscol mini sevens qualifier on Monday, The boys played three games winning two, and a narrow one point defeat to Ballybay in the second game. The lads played some great football and can be very proud of how they done. A special thank you to Miss Flanagan for all her hard work with the school teams. Team: C, Lennon. S, o Neill. S, Duffy. Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Executive Committee will take place on Wed 2st May at 9 30.

U-14

We played Doohamlet away in the first game of the league on Monday evening, in a very high scoring game we were unlucky to lose by 2pts. Doohamlet 8-07 Latton 3-20. We play Killeevan away on Sat 5th May.

Coaching & Development meeting

On Wed 2st May County games development manager Paul o’ connor will address all team managers adult & juvenile, the juvenile committee and club committee members are also asked to attend this very important meeting.

All-Ireland championship preview

On Saturday 12th May in the Gaa social club we will hold our preview night for the 2012 championship. Special guest include: Oisin mc Conville, Enda mc Ginley, Bryan Cullen, Darren Hughes, Seanie Johnston. Tickets from any committee member, or at the door on the night. Admission €15, Refreshments served. Photo opportunities from 8.00pm.
