Carrickmacross Notes

November 1st, 2011

SENIORS

Well done to our senior players and management who beat Kildress Wolfe Tones in the quarter final of the Ulster Intermediate football championship on Sunday last.  We started strongly but Kildress put on the pressure to leave the half time score Carrick 0-03 Kildress 0-06 but following a storming performance by the Carrick lads in the second half it finished Carrick Emmets 0-11, Kildress 0-08 to the great delight of the Carrick supporters.  We will now play Craigbane of Derry in the semi final on November 13th.  We would like to thank all the loyal supporters who travelled to Omagh last Sunday and ask for your continued support for our team.  We will play Currin in the Intermediate football final this Sunday in Drumhowan at 2pm, best of luck lads.

MASS

Mass for deceased members will take place in St. Josephs church on Friday 4th November at 7.30pm.

AGM

Date for AGM has been decided for Friday 25th November in the Emmet Centre.

LADIES

Our under 13 girls took part in a Development blitz on Saturday last in Cloghan. This was to look at girls for our county under 14s next year. Well done to all the girls who travelled and their mentors. This was a worthwhile exercise and the girls enjoyed it before losing out in the shield final. There will be more development training in the coming weeks and all girls will be notified.

Well done to the senior men who won their Ulster quarter final match in Omagh on Sunday last. This was a great achievement for the boys who now play the Derry champions in the semi-final on Sunday 13th Nov again in Omagh. We ask all supporters to get behind the team. They also play their League final on Sunday next against Currin in Drumhowan at 2pm.

There is a mass for all deceased members of Carrick Emmett’s Football, Hurling, Ladies and Handball clubs on Friday 4th Nov at 7-30pm in St Joseph’s Church.

Carrick Ladies would like to congratulate Donaghmoyne on winning the Ulster Club Championship on Sunday last. Well done to all and we hope you can go on and win the All-Ireland. We say hard luck to Inniskeen Ladies who lost their Ulster final on Saturday last. Keep up the good work girls.

HANDBALL

Juvenile handball training continues every Thursday at 5pm in the Emmet Centre.  All boys and girls from age 7 welcome.
