DOOHAMLET
GFC NOTES

After a disappointing result and
display against Blayney on
Saturday week last Doohamlet produced a very improved
performance against Latton on Friday
evening last and were very unfortunate they didn’t take anything from a
game that they dominated for long periods.
With injuries to key players James
Casey, Colin Walshe and Ted Duffy and with Niall J. Connolly also out through
suspension recently Doohamlets resources are stretched to the limit.
Colin Walshe did return last Friday and added much more pace and
enthusiasm at midfield where he and Ciaran McManus bossed this vital area
throughout and Doohamlets forwards caused many problems for Latton
defence.
However a lapse in defence resulted
in the only goal of the game in the final quarter and this proved decisive as
Latton held on for a one point victory.
Fixtures:
Doohamlet
travel to Clontibret on Friday evening next for a local derby
against our fellow parishioners.  On Sunday we have a home game against high flying
Magheracloone.
Get Well Wishes:
are extended
to star forward Ted Duffy.  Ted suffered a broken collarbone recently against Blayney and will be
out for a number of weeks.  We wish him a speedy
recovery.
Congratulations:
To Shane
McManus and his new wife Ciara who wed last week and a great night was had by
all on Saturday night.
Good Luck to the happy couple and may they have many Happy Years
together.
Sponsorship:
Many thanks
to top Plumbing and Heating Contractors Sean O’Neill and Damian Finnegan who
have very kindly sponsored new jerseys for our U12 and U14 teams recently. This
is a very kind gesture in the current economic climate and very much
appreciated.
