Sean Mac Diarmada Notes 3-03-11

Dates for Your Diary:

Sun 6th March – Stewartstown (Tyrone, home) V Sean Mac Diarmada, Ulster Intermediate League @2:00pm.

Fri 11th March – Jubilee Mass.

Team Affairs:

This Sunday we travel to Stewartstown in Tyrone in the Ulster Intermediate League to play the hosts. Throw in @ 2:00pm.

Referees:

Anybody interested in taking up refereeing should contact the Chairman, Gerry Lynch as referee courses will be beginning soon. With nearly 800 juvenile matches alone to be refereed throughout the county this year, it is very important we have enough referees.

Jubilee Year Celebrations:

The jubilee year celebrations will commence on Friday 11th March with mass in St Mary’s Church, and light refreshments will be served in the complex immediately after. This will be the first part of a series of celebrations throughout the year. An open invitation is extended to everybody to attend on the night.

Juveniles:

All of our juvenile teams are up and running at this stage, players and parents should note times of training sessions as attendance is vitally important due to the leagues starting in the near future, indoor gear and outdoor gear should be taken to all sessions for the foreseeable future.

Scor:

Our novelty act succeeded in gaining entry to the Ulster Final by claiming the semi-final title in Silverbridge last Saturday night. The final will take place in Newry on Saturday 12th March, all support greatly appreciated.

Mr & Mrs:

The Seans ladies are organising a Mr and Mrs competition on Sunday 24th April in the complex. Plans are at an advanced stage and tickets will be on sale soon. This is a very worthy cause as the ladies do a lot of unseen work around the club.

Dancing Classes:

Dancing classes continue at the usual time. Ceile dancing on Mondays from 6:30-7:30 pm.  Set dancing on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm also.

Bingo:

The mini JACKPOT stands at €1000 on 47 calls next Monday night. Meanwhile the BIG JACKPOT is now €12,800 on 45 calls. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Membership:
The club membership subscription for 2011 is now due, and should be paid as soon as possible to registrar Enda Murphy or Ciaran Mc Entee who will gratefully accept all donations on behalf of the club. Prompt payment will ensure that you continue to be a club member for 2011.

Anybody wishing to publicise club events or items of note can do so by e-mailing the PRO by Sunday night @ 8 o’clock. The e-mail address is pro@seanmcdermotts.net
