Senior League

Our first outing in the senior league will be on Sunday, 27th March at home to neighbours Doohamlet at 2.30pm.

Reserve League Division 1

Clontibret 1-10, Latton 1-08. After a poor first half performance playing with the wind, which left us four down at half time, the team rallied for a great second half to claim an important win to get the season off to a promising start. Team and scorers: Arthur Morgan, Donal Carragher, Kevin Ward, Kieran Greenan (1-0), Fergal Greenan, Colin Duffy, Fergal McGuigan, Daithi McKeown, David Savage, Johnny McKenna (0-4), Fergal O’Dowd (0-1), Ronan Murphy (0-1), Pauric Boyle, Ryan McGuigan (0-4), Niall Duffy. Our next game is away to Scotstown on Sunday at 2.30pm.

 

Reserve League Division 3

Clontibret 0-09, Aughnamullen 1-08. Team and scorers: Declan Savage, Brian McSkane, Kevin Ward, Donal Carragher (0-1), Fergal McGuigan, Philip Rooney (0-1), Christopher Tedore, Kieran Greenan, Fergal Greenan (0-1), Stephen McGuigan, Paul Winters (0-2), Darren Murphy, Niall Duffy (0-2), Padraig McShane, Fergal O’Dowd (0-2). Next up is home to Oram on Saturday, 26th March with a 4pm start.

U14 & U16 Coaches Workshop

There will be a ‘Coaching the Coaches’ workshop on Monday 21st March in Cloghan at 7:30pm. This workshop is targeting anybody who works with under 14 & under 16 club teams. Areas covered on the night will be Kicking & Shooting, Defensive play, Attacking play, Fitness with the ball & Strength & Conditioning exercises. This workshop is to be delivered by Monaghan Coaching Staff Paul Turley and Marty Corey. The cost of the course will be €5. Anyone interested in participating please contact Marty or Fergal Mone.

U14 League

The first u14 matches for both teams will take place for both teams this weekend. The division 2 team play away to Cremartin at 12pm while the division 5 team play away to Emyvale, also at 12pm. Best of luck to all involved for the year ahead.

U12s

Training will take place on Sunday morning at 11am.

National League Forecasts

Niall Duffy, Avelreagh won the NFL forecasts last weekend with a score of 62 points. The previous week’s winner was Brian O’Sullivan c/o Owen Joe McKeown with 54 points.

 

Sympathy

Deepest sympathy is extended to the Ann Winters and the Winters family on the death of her sister, Kathleen Rooney, who was buried in Dublin last week. Sympathy is also extended to former Chairman Peter McKenna and family on the death of Peter’s nephew, Owen McKenna who was a victim of the recent earthquake in New Zealand and who was buried during the week.
