Social & Presentation Night

Our social and presentation night takes place tomorrow night Friday 25th February in St. Mary’s Hall. Aogan O’Fearghail, Uachtaran Chomhairle Uladh will be our special guest on the night and admission will be €10 which can be paid at the door. Refreshments will also be served on the night. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of medals to our victorious Reserve team that captured the Division 4 league cup last September. Runners-up medals will also be presented to our minor team that reached the league and championship finals. In addition, the annual awards will be handed out to the Senior, Reserve and Minor Player of the Year for 2010. Entertainment on the night will be provided by Rainbow and here’s hoping for a wonderful night’s craic and I look forward to seeing you there.

Parent Information / Registration Night

Tonight (Thursday 24th February) we are holding a parent information & registration night for all underage players including under 8’s, 10’s, 12’s, 14’s, 16’s and 18’s. All players and parents will be expected to turn up and indeed any new parents and players are also very welcome. Our youth officer Paschal Smith issued a copy of our Code of Conduct / Code of Best Practice, along with this year’s juvenile membership forms through the local school this week and parents are requested to bring this documentation to the registration night accompanied with the €5 fee per child. We are appealing to people especially parents to volunteer their services to help out with our juvenile teams. You do not have to be an expert and you will be instructed by an experienced coach, but please come forward and volunteer. You may be able to spare one hour on a Saturday morning or one evening per week to supervise at training sessions, or maybe at a game. Whatever you can do please do come forward and offer your help as we need as many people as possible. For further details please contact our youth officer Paschal Smith at 086-8161028.

Silverbridge 2-8  Rockcorry 1-7

We played our third game of the Ulster club league competition last Sunday 20th February when we travelled to Armagh to play Silverbridge. The lads showed good team spirit and character over the hour and on occasions produced some good passages of football but at times we were guilty of some very bad passing and we gave away possession too easily which Silverbridge took advantage off and won the game by four points 2-8 to 1-7. Please visit www.rockcorrygaa.ie for match report and some action photo’s. This Sunday 27th February we are on the road again when we travel to Antrim to take on Patrick Sarsfields. Please check official fixture list for throw-in time.

Fixtures

Our senior team will commence their Intermediate league campaign with a home game against Aughnamullen on Saturday 19th March at 3.00pm. On Sunday 27th March we have another home game against Drumhowan at 2.30pm. Our reserve team will start their league campaign on Saturday 12th March with a home game against Truagh at 4.00pm. On Saturday 26th March they travel to play Emyvale and the game has a throw-in time of 4.00pm.
