Scór na nÓg: The club’s winning acts in the county Scór na nÓg competitions will represent Monaghan at the Ulster semi-final in Stradone, Co Cavan this Sunday, December 8, at 2pm. Ádh mór ar gach duine.

Volunteer Recognition and Appreciation night: Congratulations to Mary White, who was recognised at last Wednesday’s volunteer recognition ceremony in the Four Seasons Hotel. Mary is a passionate GAA supporter and has been involved with Monaghan Harps at all levels for the last 22 years. Mary does a variety of jobs behind the scenes and she is a key organiser of our annual New Year’s Day charity match, which is a great club and family day and has raised vital funds for various worthy local causes. Mary has also been involved with our Saturday-morning coaching sessions for 16 years, where her energy and rapport with our youngest juvenile players is instrumental in instilling in them a love for the GAA and for Monaghan Harps. Congratulations Mary and thanks for your great service to our club! Well done also to everyone involved in organising this excellent initiative.

Handball: Congratulations to Eoghan McGinnity, who was named Young Male Player of the Year at last weekend’s O’Neill’s GAA Handball awards night at Croke Park. Well done also to Martin McEntee, who was a very deserving nominee for the national Volunteer of the Year award.

AGM: The club’s Annual General Meeting took place in our clubhouse last Thursday. See report in next week’s notes.

Elaine Tate: Well done to everyone involved in last Sunday’s charity game for the Elaine Tate fund in Clones, which saw Kevin Loughran line out for Monaghan against Cavan. We send our best wishes to the Tate family.

Schools: Good luck to all club players currently competing in schools’ competitions.

Clubhouse: The Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. Please contact Paudge Connolly on 085 8589135 or Rose Donnelly on 086 0825782 for more information. Anyone looking to book the clubhouse for meetings, functions, etc. is asked to please give a week’s notice for convenience.

Hurling:

Volunteer Recognition and Appreciation night: Congratulations to our very own John Treanor, who was recognised as our club volunteer of the year at last Wednesday’s ceremony in the Four Seasons Hotel. This was the third year of the volunteer recognition and appreciation ceremony and it was a fabulous event that celebrated the fantastic work put in by club volunteers around the county.

Last Man Standing Competition: Following week seven of the competition, there are four entrants remaining. Arsenal’s draw on Sunday saw the remaining number of entrants whittled down to the final four. Keep an eye on our social media account for further updates!
