Thanks to everyone for their support for our Lotto, which plays a critical role in our club’s funding. We ask all club members to continue to promote our Lotto as much as possible.

Cake Sale: The juvenile club’s annual Cake Sale takes place this Saturday, April 28 from 9.30am in Monaghan Shopping Centre. We need volunteers to leave in cakes/buns etc. on the day and to help out at the stand. Please contact Úna Forde on 087 6107329. This has been a successful and popular club fundraiser for us in recent years and all support is appreciated.

Seniors: We fell short away to Scotstown in the Senior Football League last Sunday. A largely youthful team put in a good effort to go close to claiming a result after a slow start, only for a late Scotstown goal to put the game beyond reach at 2-13 to 0-13. We host Magheracloone in the fourth five-point game this Saturday at 7pm. All support welcome.

Reserves: Our reserve Division 1B team moved into a share of first place in the league with a comfortable win at home to Aughnamullen last Wednesday. We made a flying start against the breeze, with goals from Jason McHugh (two), Francis Lynch and Conor McCrystal helping us to a 4-7 to 0-5 half-time lead. Éimhín Morahan, Aidan Burns, Thomas Croarkin, Seán Peyton and Dylan McKenna were also on target as we ran out 4-13 to 0-6 winners.

Team: Dylan McAree; Jamie Shields, Aidan Burns, Niall McManus; Thomas Croarkin, John Mulligan, Niall Treanor; Dylan McKenna (Capt.), Richard Wilkie; Conor Duffy, Seán Peyton, Francis Lynch; Conor McCrystal, Éimhín Morahan, Jason McHugh.

Subs used: Niall Ward, Colm Shalvey, Morgan McDonagh, Turlough Clerkin, Nathan O’Donoghue.

We hosted Corduff in Division 2B on Wednesday, while we have another home game against Éire Óg this Sunday at 12.30.

Minors: Our minor footballers won away to St. Patrick’s on Tuesday (April 24).

U-15: The U-15 Football Leagues continued last week with games for both of our teams. We were away to Donaghmoyne in Division One on Thursday. Having fallen to a heavy defeat in the same fixture last year, our lads put in a much-improved performance to edge out a strong Donaghmoyne side. A brace of goals from Shay Cooney and one by Ben Myers helped us lead by 3-3 to 1-7 at the end of a keenly-contested first half. Our lads stayed ahead throughout the second half, with Shay again leading the scoring and Mark McManus also contributing a vital point. This win was built on a great team effort by everyone involved.

Team and scorers: Karol Parszywka; Jordan Crampton, Tiarnán O’Rourke, Gary Devlin; James Curley, Liam Conway (Capt.), Mark McManus (0-1); Nathan Lavery, Kevin Moran; Jake Power, Jake McConnon, Daragh Croarkin, Jamie Coyle; Shay Cooney (2-7, 1-0 pen, 0-4f), Ben Myers (1-0).

Subs used: Josh Lavery, Josh Kelly, Luke McManus.

Our Division Five team proved too strong for Scotstown at home on Friday. We had six scorers in the first half as we built up a useful lead, with Karol Parszywka, Luke McManus, Josh Kelly, Shea Swift, Gary Devlin and Mark McManus all on target. Karol added another goal after half-time, while Shea, Luke and Josh landed some fine points to seal a good win.

Team and scorers: Oisín Reilly; Jordan Crampton, Michael McMorrow; Shea Swift (0-5, 1f), Gary Devlin (0-1), Jake McConnon; Ben Myers, Mark McManus (Capt., 0-1); Gregory O’Connell, Josh Lavery, Josh Kelly (2-2); Luke McManus (0-4), Karol Parszywka (3-0).

Subs used: Conor Treanor, Dean Conlon, Eoin McCleary, Dáire Sheridan, Dylan McClave.

U-13: Our U-13 Division One team faced Truagh on Tuesday. The Division Five game at home to Carrickmacross has been rescheduled for next Monday.

U-11: Our U-11 teams continued the Spring League with an entertaining double-header at home to Magheracloone last Tuesday (April 17). Both teams are away to Donaghmoyne this Saturday at 12 noon and 1pm.
