Dominant Carrick First Through to Semi Final

MC ELVANEY’S WASTE & RECYCLING INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Carrickmacross 3-16, Emyvale 1-9.

A sharper, hungrier, slicker Carrickmacross experienced little difficulty in booking their place in the semi final when they proved too strong and too astute for Emyvale in this quite one sided affair that was played in good conditions in Castleblayney on Saturday evening.

This game was practically over as a contest at half time by which stage Carrickmacross led by 1-10 to 1-1, the Emyvale goal by Daniel Mcmahon in the 20th minute to bring the margin down to two at that stage. The Carrickmacross goal by Stephen O’Hanlon came just before the break to help the Emmets to a nine points lead at half time.

The second half followed a similar pattern with Stephen Gollogly directing matters and helping Stephen O’hanlon to his second gaol to put Carrickmacross 14 points in front entering the final quarter. Emyvale did register a few points but there was no way  back as Carrickmacross finished strongly with a third goal on the hour mark by substitute Aaron Jones completing the rout.
