Monaghan Harps Lotto: Numbers 1, 4, 21 and 27. Jackpot of €1,100 not won. Jackpot for Sunday, January 29 is €1,200 and Maria and Hugh McKenna are on duty. Lotto draw takes place in our clubhouse every Sunday night. All welcome. Meetings: The club’s monthly meetings for February take place next Thursday (February 2). Please note change of date due to Monaghan Arch Club’s visit on February 9.

 

Charity match: All funds raised from our New Year’s Day charity match will go to a local charity/charities to be named soon. Any sponsorship forms still to be returned must be left into the clubhouse or to organisers Owen Connell and Mary White as soon as possible. Check online for details of presentation of funds raised.

 

Membership: Registration fees of €20 for 2017 can now be paid to club registrar Kevin Treanor or in the clubhouse. Members can now avail of the GAA’s new ‘GRMA’ scheme, with access to exclusive discounts and special offers. See gaa.ie for more details.

 

Dates to remember: Monaghan Arch Club will return to Gavan Duffy Park for their always anticipated annual visit on Thursday, February 9. All support for this will be greatly appreciated. We will be participating and hosting at Féile Peil na nÓg 2017 (June 23-25). Keep an eye on club notes for more details on these events.

 

Club Draw: The GAA National Club Draw is back for 2017, once again offering a great selection of prizes. Keep an eye on club notes for details of tickets.

 

Coaching: There are several upcoming coaching courses/workshops in Cloghan. Check the Monaghan GAA website and contact Pádraig Callan if you wish to attend any.

 

‘Talk To Me’: A local mental-health support group will be hosting meetings in our clubhouse on the first Wednesday of every month, starting next week (February 1), for carers, family and friends of people with mental-health difficulties. County awards night: The Northern Standard Monaghan GAA annual awards presentation night took place in the Hillgrove Hotel last Friday. Team captain Kevin Loughran and Fearghal McMahon received their medals as part of the Ulster-winning 2016 Monaghan Under-21 team. Well done to all involved.

Gavan Duffy Park: The refurbished Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. We are now taking bookings for 2017; please get in early to avoid disappointment!
