Thanks to everyone for their support for our Lotto in 2016.

Charity match: Our annual charity match takes place at Gavan Duffy Park on New Year’s Day at 3pm. Funds raised from this always enjoyable day will go to a local charity/charities to be named at a later date. Sponsorship cards are available now. We invite everyone to join us on the day and get 2017 off to a great start for a good cause.

Lotto AGM: The Lotto AGM took place in the clubhouse last Sunday night. Maria McKenna and Rose Donnelly reported on another profitable year for the lotto. All ticket sellers and everyone who takes part in the rotas for the draw and for selling tickets in the shopping centre were thanked, as were the Sunday-night regulars and the bar workers. Our jackpot is currently a fantastic €8,400 for the first draw of 2017. Sympathy was expressed to anyone associated with the Lotto who suffered a bereavement during the year. The following committee was returned for 2017: Chairperson: Maria McKenna; Vice-Chair: Noel Hennessy; Secretary: Rose Donnelly; Assistant Secretary: Monica Connolly; PRO: Colm Shalvey. We were delighted to be joined by Tessie Connolly; we wish her and all members continued good health. Thanks to the lotto committee for providing food and entertainment on the night and to the young musicians who played. The Harps Lotto has played an essential part in the running of the club over the last two decades and continues to do so. We ask for everyone’s continued support and remind members that anyone who wishes to contribute in any way is very much encouraged to get involved.
