Castleblayney Camogie Notes

March 21st, 2015

Presentation Night: On Friday 27th February, Castleblayney Camogie Club hosted its presentation night which was held in the Blackhill club. Presentations were made on the night to Club Person of the Year Ciara Gormally, Senior Player of the Year Kate Deasy, Junior Player of the Year Karen Markey and also a presentation was made to Paul and Donna Forde for their continuous commitment to the club and for all the work they put into the Senior team the past number of years. The Juveniles had a successful year and medals were presented from Cork Camogie All-Star Jennifer O’Leary to the U14 for winning the Armagh League and also to the U-13, U-16 and U18 for winning the Louth League. A great night was had by all and the Club would like to thank Blackhill for their facilities, Cork Camogie All-Star Jennifer O’Leary for presenting the medals, our sponsors Mr. K’s and Campbells for the refreshments, Mc Elroy trophies and also to our Club committee for organizing this successful night. Thank you to all.

Castleblayney Camogie Club is registered for the Topaz Cash for Clubs. Our club registration code is: 10104. Please use this code to earn a stamp for the club when you fill your car with €40 petrol/diesel at any topaz filling station. Thank you in advance.

Also congratulations to some of the members of Castleblayney Camogie Club who took part in the GAA’s health challenge ‘Off the Booze, On the Ball’. This involved them giving up alcohol for the month of February while getting sponsored to do so, thus raising valuable funds for the club. Well done to all involved.

Hard luck to the Monaghan Minor Camogie team who were beaten by Tyrone in the camogie Ulster Minor Shield Final, there was plenty of the Castleblayney girls on the panel and they did their Club proud.

Finally, the club year has officially started for our senior team who are back at training. The club would like to wish manager’s Francis Markey and Hugh Cullen and the players all the best for 2015. Training continues for the seniors on Saturday at 5pm.
