Monaghan Harps Lotto: Numbers 2, 8, 16 and 26. Jackpot of €4,100 not won. Draw: Tickets for the GAA National Club Draw are out now. Tickets cost €10 and the excellent prizes include trips away with the 2015 All-Stars and packages for the All-Ireland finals. Please return tickets to Jimmy Croarkin as soon as possible.

 

Charity match: The presentation of the proceeds from our recent charity match is due to take place on Sunday week, February 1. Keep an eye on club notes and website for details. Sponsorship forms yet to be handed in should be returned to Owen Connell, Mary White, Theresa McCaughey or the clubhouse as soon as possible. All money raised will go to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, the organisation assisting the family of the late James Finnegan, who died tragically in Korea last month.

 

Membership: Membership fees for 2015 are being maintained as follows: €20 per adult, €10 per child or €50 for a family of two adults and any number of children. Money can be paid to registrar Dermot Coyle, Jimmy Croarkin or dropped into the clubhouse.

 

Awards: The Monaghan GAA Annual Awards night will be held in the Hillgrove Hotel this Saturday night, January 24, with our own Michael O’Donoghue, Yvonne Connell and Conor McDonnell among the winners. Tickets cost €30.

 

Upcoming events: We are delighted to again host Monaghan Arch Club at Gavan Duffy Park on Thursday, February 5, and to host the second Darkness into Light Monaghan 5km walk/run on the morning of Saturday, May 9.

 

Vice-chair: The newest addition to our club committee is Séamus McManus, who was appointed as vice-chairman at last Thursday’s monthly meeting. Good luck to Séamus in his new role.

 

Juvenile Presentation: The presentation of medals to our successful juvenile teams from 2014 is due to take place in the clubhouse on Friday, February 13. More details to follow.

 

Coaching: Monaghan Coaching & Games Development are running a series of Coach Education programmes and there are also a number of coaching workshops coming up in Cloghan in the next few months. See the Monaghan GAA website for more details.

 

County teams: Good luck to Fearghal McMahon, Kevin Loughran, Evan Doherty and the Monaghan Under-21s in Saturday’s Hastings Cup shield semi-final against Kerry.

 

Sympathy: At last Thursday’s club meeting, votes of sympathy were passed to the families of the late Molly McCaughey, Rose Gollogly, James Finnegan and John Gilsenan. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.

 

Scór: Scór Sinsir is due to take place on Saturday, February 21.

 

Garda vetting: Club members who have received their Garda vetting clearance forms are asked to send a photocopy of same to Thomas McCabe. Anyone yet to fill out a form can contact Thomas on 087 7635891.
