Team and scorers:- Fergal Connolly, Dara Brady, Conor Mc Caffrey, Ronan King, Cian North, Ben Clerkin, Dylan Greenan, Sean Brady, 0-2, Ciaran Mc Caffrey, 0-2, Jonathon O Connor, Enda Mc Caffrey, Niall Mc Entee,0-2, Damien Connolly, Kieran Kearns, Mark Connolly. Subs used, S Smith, D Rafferty, 0-1. The team and mentors enjoyed an end of season evening at the races in Dundalk on Saturday evening.

Youth Affairs:

The under 8’s and under 10’s training has now finished for the winter. It has been a great year with all children taking part in and thoroughly enjoying the various ‘Go Games’ competitions organised. Many thanks to the Monaghan County Board and to the numerous volunteers around the county for organising these games and to the Clubs for making their facilities available. Now is the time to clean and dry those boots before you put them away! Looking forward to 2015. Saturday mornings will not be the same! Terry Mc Entee:

Best wishes to Terry McEntee from our Under 16 team who travels to Russia this week to participate in the European Junior Boxing Championships in Anepa in Russia, on the Black Sea coast. It’s a long way to go but Terry has already travelled a long distance to get this far in representing Ireland along with a

small group of elite young boxers. There will be 254 boxers from 33 countries taking part so it is a major achievement to get this far. Well done Terry and the best of luck from all in Currin G.F.C.

Committee matters:

The A.G.M will take place on Saturday 6th December at 9.00 p.m. in Scotshouse Community Centre. Nominations forms are being sent to member in the coming weeks. Please fill in your nomination form and return to Secretary before the stated date.

Fundraising:

The annual fundraiser ‘A Night at the Races’ will take place on Saturday 6th December, after the A.G.M. Horses etc can be bought from any committee member. It is hoped for the usual generous support from all our members, supporters and friends.

Vincent Smyth, Clonlura, Drumully. R.I.P.

It was with sincere sadness that we learned of the untimely death of Vincent Smyth, on Thursday 23rd October. The Smyth family have had a long and valued association with the Currin club. Vincent was a great supporter of all Currin’s activities and took great delight in watching his sons Shane, Brian and Marc line out with the Currin club. Members of Currin G.F.C. formed a Guard of Honour at his funeral on Saturday. We extend our sympathy to all family and friends, especially to his wife Bernie, sons, Michael, Shane, Brian and Marc and his daughters Marie and Fiona. Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.
