Merry Christmas: Toome GFC would like to wish all our members, sponsors, supporters, volunteers, committee members, club officers, team mentors, management, players and their families and all our friends both near and far a very Happy, Healthy and Safe Christmas. We also wish to remember those who are no longer with us and will be sadly missed at this time. Please be sure to check in on elderly neighbours or anyone who may be vulnerable over the festive season, if at all possible. Here is hoping that 2023 is a joyous and healthy year, filled with laughter, good deeds and happiness. Look after yourselves, family, friends and neighbours and we hope to see you all in the New Year.

Stephens Day Walk: Annual Sponsored Walk from Toome GFC on St Stephen’s Day in aid of Castleblayney MS Group. Donations on the day, 5k walk to take place at 12 noon and back to the centre for tea and refreshments. Please be sure and spread the word, invite your family, friends and neighbours to come along and get a little exercise and fresh air after Christmas Day and support a great cause.

Thank You: The Club, Committee and members would like to thank the management, players and their families who committed so much to the past year, you brought us all great joy for the season. The league was never going to be easy and we made hard work of it ourselves but it was through that sheer grit and determination that we know this team has, that kept us out of the danger when it mattered. The Championship came when for once we had all players available and this allowed us to witness some fantastic football. Topping the group, we then had to wait 4 weeks to play the semi-final against Corduff, this was an exceptional match played in tough conditions, despite playing some great ball the game was forced to extra time and we came off second best. Despite the result the Toome players were able to walk tall with their heads high and gained a lot of respect from the stand and terrace that day. Thank you to all our coaches and helpers throughout the year with the juvenile structure and blitz’s these were fantastic and a joy to see so many children about the Club and enjoying themselves. Thank you to all our volunteers throughout the year, without you we would not be in the position we are today, from maintenance jobs to ticket selling and match day preparations any activity we only had to ask and you all delivered. Thank you to all those who sponsored Tee Boxes at our Annual Golf Classic and entered teams this was a fantastic event this year and a great source of fundraising for the Club. Thank you to all who purchased raffle tickets for our fund raiser ‘Trip to New York’, the generosity, banter, goodwill and kindness at the doors was second to none, and this was the most successful fundraiser in the Clubs history. Thank you to all our match ball sponsors, this was a great scheme and help raise much need funds for the team. Lastly, a huge thank you to all our sponsors throughout the year, your generosity and show of support towards the Club holds no bounds and is truly and greatly appreciated.
