This week’s Lotto draw was held on Monday 5th December. There was no winner of the jackpot worth €4,900. Numbers drawn were 8,10,16 and 25. Congratulationsto the 5 lucky dip winners Derek Murnaghan (Yearly), Corina Corrigan (Yearly), Reggie Maggs USA (Yearly), Renee McKeown c/o Ballytrain and Eddie Wynne c/o John Joe. Next week’s jackpot hits €5,000 with draw on Monday 12th December.

There has to be nothing better that playing in an Ulster Final in December and following Corduff’s win over Castlerahan 2 weeks ago in the Ulster Semifinal the stage is now set for the Ulster Intermediate Club Championship Final between Corduff and Galbally Pearses this Saturday at 6 pm in Páirc Esler in Newry. The players and management are working away with their preparations ahead of the big match and Corduff Gaels plus the entire Corduff Raferagh community and beyond wish the team, Seamus and the backroom team the very best of good luck on Saturday.
Once again the loyal Corduff supporters will be out in force to support the team. You all know the drill by now, it’s all ticket which means tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets can be purchased in O’Gorman’s Super Valu or online at ulstergaa.ie/tickets. If you can assist a neighbour or friend purchase a ticket please do. Once you have your ticket kit yourself out in your Corduff gear and off you go!
The area is awash with black and amber and thanks is extended to those who helped out with signs ,flags and bunting over the last few weeks. It’s not too late to get your flags or bunting up if you haven’t already done so!!
Corduff Gaels had the honour of been visited by Minister Heather Humphreys Minister for Social Protection and Minister for Rural and Community Development along with Jack Chambers Minister of State For Sport and Senator Robbie Gallagher last Friday. The Ministers were doing a whistle stop tour of clubs in South Monaghan and Corduff Gaels wish to thank all 3 for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit Corduff and go for a walk around the facilities. The club wishes to thank our elected representatives for all investment received to date and look forward to receiving more in the future.

Corduff Ladies AGM:
Corduff Ladies AGM took place on Tuesday 29th November in the refurbished Computer Room in Corduff Raferagh Community. A large crowd was in attendance and following the success of the 2022 season the mood was buoyant. The AGM is the most important meeting of the year with reports delivered by the Chairperson, Secretary & Treasurer.
All reports reflected the progress made from the U6s right up to the Senior Ladies. All managers and coaches were thanked for their dedication and commitment to their age groups / teams. The historic Intermediate Double winning team was congratulated and wished all the best in Senior ranks. The Minor team was also congratulated on their success. All sponsors were thanked , in particular Club sponsor Orla Marron proprietor of The Ivy Skin & Lazer in Carrickmacross. Corduff Gaels Chairperson Peter and Secretary Majella were thanked for accommodating the Ladies Club at all times, in particular the use of all the facilities.
The election of officers followed with new people elected to some key positions: Chairperson Ciarán Marron, Vice Chairperson Bernie Walsh , Secretary Adele Ward, Assistant Secretary Emma McKeown, Treasurer Sinéad McEntee, Assistant Treasurer Brenda Carragher, PRO Mary McEneaney, Registrar Sinéad McEntee, Coaching Officer Raymond Byrne, Development Officer Laura O Boyle, Cultural & Language Officers Niamh Callan and Hannah Finegan, County Delegates Ciarán Marron and Emma McKeown. The outgoing committee members Dermot and Darin were thanked for their dedication and hard work over the years in various roles on the Ladies Committee. The incoming Committee is wished good luck in 2023 which promises to be another exciting year.
Having concluded the business end of the meeting it was time for the customary tea / coffee etc and thanks to the Community Centre staff for serving it up.
